I hope it's truly Wasteland 2, instead of pseudo Fallout. While they share the roots Wasteland wasn't exactly the same and the early version of W2 makes me hopefull devs realize that.

What were the key differences in the franchises, other than Wasteland being squad based (to my understanding, a little more like FO Tactics)? I have never played the original Wasteland

Oh please.... Wastle was a turn based isometric game with RPG elements....

Dungeons and Dragons was a Table Top game with RPG Elements....

This RPG Elitism is totall bullshit.... Theres no such thing as a complete pure RPG..... Its very nature is to be an element.

And this thread just became an endless discussion on what an RPG is, thanks to Lulu_Lulu

Aside from much more tactcal combat the key difference was the style and atmosphere. Wasteland was much more lively, wild and varried setting wise and while Fallouts are stuck in 50s, Wasteland was heavily into 80s stylistically.

I can't wait for it. I think its going to be an awesome game tbh.

Having seen someone play the beta, it seems clear Oblvion is better.

Wasteland 2 looks legit. Would pre-order but I don't wanna shill out $60 right now.

So far Wasteland 2 has been very entertaining, I've tried not to play too much until it gets full release though.

No point in comparing it to Fallout 3 though, short of both being set in post apocalyptic America there are similarities between them.

Contrary to popular belief calling fallout 3 first person shooter is insult to entire genre. because as FPS the game made rogue warrior Half life.

Oh ok. Didn't know they opened it up to everyone. Haven't check the site in months. Guess I'll have to download the game when I get home.
