Didn't want to post more screenshots. Would've made page more laggy, so picked up 3 or 4 games that I remembered. But of course there are a lot more than those as you mentioned. Black Desert is easily the best looking traditional MMO I've ever seen and The Bard's Tale is already looking glorious. Not to mention Umbra and Into the Stars.

Agreed. Every Relic game was RTS benchmark when it came out back then. A lot of people upgraded their PCs for Dawn of War and Company of Heroes. Those games were quite a looker back then. It's still funny that he mentioned those almost a decade old games and compared them to a third person shooter that is coming out in 2016.

Yea we're still playing CS, Starcraft.......many years old games. Cause theres still a shit ton of people playing them. they aren't $60 one time playthroughs and you're done. The longevity of PC games is miles longer than console games. And no, its not because "devs are lazy"
BTW, I'm glad they are only focusing on 4 factions with this game so far, even though I like Elves quite a lot. Making game too big like Empire or Rome 2 causes problems on launch and these games are more difficult to polish. It's better to have less factions but with more variety and streamlined gameplay mechanics like Shogun 2. Quality > Quantity. Of course if you have both then... Awesomeness x 3.

I'm still hoping that they'll sneak in a Tzeentch faction as well. That Lord of Change in the cinematic trailer hopefully has some relevance to the game.

All 5000 will be detailed? Of course they won't. Also Uncharted is more about lighting, animatio, destructible environments, and everything looks to have some physics to it.
And now along with Human soldiers in Warhammer, they have Trolls, Giants, Spiders, Mages, Siege Tanks, Gatling Guns, Orcs, Goblins, Vampires, Dwarfs, Griffins, War Hogs, Dragons etc.
See here is the thing though. If both turn out to be quality games, Total War Warhammer is going to be the better game.... Unchartered 4 is the promotion of the shit AAA movie industry in which your given maybe 12 hour long campaign (if your lucky) with minimal replay value and high production value.. Your then given a token multiplayer that is ok, but nothing to write home.. This wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for the fact that the industry is fucking FILLED with these type of games, and Uncharted does nothing new or different to separate it self from the rest.. Uncharted 4 maybe a quality game, but it will be a very short quality game in a absolute sea of over done game tropes that does nothing different..
If this Total War is actually good, it will be the kind of game people will be playing for years.. Because the game is not only going to offer complexity but is going to actually give you MEANINGFUL choices on top of a chaotic environment in which even if you play the same faction over again, and do similar strategy, your game will be completely different due to random events or different factions taking over than last game.. And the sad thing is now a days is the game industry has more of the prior and not enough of the later.. Now I understand completely if you do not like the genre, but when I hear stuff about "falling asleep" or other such things.. You pretty much qualify as the stereotypical dumbass fan who cares more about Michael bay explosions than anything of substance... There are many amazing simulators out there that I cannot get into but I am grateful they exist and can appreciate the quality that release..
The fact of the matter is we have entirely too many of these big budget "blockbuster" games in the industry, and not enough of the type of games that will have people playing for years.. This is stupid why this should even fall into a platform based debate, I would hope everyone would support more open ended games like the later over the prior due to how the landscape of the industry is right now..

@sSubZerOo: They still believe in that magical optimization when it was because of powerPC architecture, with the new consoles being x86 and upcoming APIs for PC to bring more to the metal-like programming, optimization is a dead argument or advantage, most "optimization" for consoles anyway is just smoke and mirrors.

And you think it won't? Let me guess, ND's magic and Console optimization? Star Citizen is being mocapped by one of the world's leading mocapped companies and facial animations are powered by infinite realities, same guys who did killing monsters trailer for Witcher 3.
Star Citizen/Squadron 42 is also build for top of the line PCs. There is no reason for it to not look as good as UC4 if not better, as long as you are not living in a fictional world of cows where everything happens magically better on Consoles despite their hardware limitations because "lazy devs". WIP stuff is already looking pretty impressive. Can't wait to see more.
