Want Watch Dogs E3 2012 quality? Here it is

Well, this is the closest as it gets to the infamous Watch Dogs E3 presentation in 2012.

So this guy apparently made his own XML profile where he tweaked more than 200 settings in the engine. The result? Well, the game now looks pretty damn good.

This is what the improved XML contains:

• Better Physics
• Bloom
• Improved HDR
• Better Textures and mapping
• Better Rain and splashes quantity
• Improved Reflections in the water and for the cars
• Better Water, Vegetation and Geometry quality
• Improved LOD and FOV
• Better colors everywhere
• Better Shadows
• Better SSAO Quality
• Improved Lighting for the entire game
• And much more

You can download the XML here and try it out by yourself. Just don't forget to backup your original XML file.

Compare the mission from E3 to the 2014 and then we'll see.

That's pretty good actually. Haven't played yet, but he even changed the focus too, right? I was hoping for something like this for some time now.

Nice improvement, but not even close to the E3 video. It's not something you can fix with tweaks.. There was a better cloth animations, better weather effects, the particle system for explosions looked completely different, there was lots of extra little details all over the place, and the lighting engine was miles ahead of what we ended up with. And regardless of graphics, the game is still terrible.

And the performance?

That's still not there.

Not even close...

If you look at the E3 gameplay you will see superior particle effects and how the wind affects the umbrella and the tree's movement that also casts a real time shadow of the event at 1.20-1.30... The world look more alive, where as even this just looks shiny and static.

Meh XML hacks. Someone should make a texture editor.

Im fine with the PS4 version which looks close to that.

Its a shame that PS360 held this game back.

The reflections on buildings/windows are an absolute abomination.

It's an improvement but not near the fidelity of that 2012 demo. There was SO much happening on screen in that demo

I'd like Watchdogs to not run like shit. That would generally be a good starting point before beefing the graphics up.

mod is bad and the modder is a moron (I read his guru3d thread, it's pathetic, he acts a 2 year old). It breaks the lighting system, reflections, and most of it is a placebo.

My game already does that on ultra....

Better off using an updated DX11 Sweetfx. My shots:

pc gamers at it again. ruining yet ANOTHER wonderful piece of art with their crayons and shit. unbelievable... this is almost as bad piracy. Almost.

I honestly cant tell any difference between the video and what I have already been playing on Ultra.

Yay yet another crappy graphics enhancement package that pc users like to use.... that makes everything dark and undistringuishable. hiding the problem is not fixing it.

Agreed, contrast is horrible with his settings. The sunlit sidewalk looks like it was bleached...stock settings look far better.

Anyway game already pretty much looks like that on ultra and no this is no where near what we saw at E3 which was like a different generation than what we have now.

The default Ultra is good enough to me.

Looks amazing. Too bad about the console versions.

... I didn't say all of them, funny that you choose Skyrim when alot of the other lnked videos to that have the dark verisons I mention.

it's stuttering on his SLI GTX 770 + 4770K running at 4.6Ghz! and still doesn't look like the E3 demo.

My system would probably die running this (single Titan Black + i7 4970 at stock clock). So I don't think this is practical. It seems the engine is not well optimized.

It's probably because Watch Dogs is just a terrible PC port. Yet of course Ubisoft managed to release DLC before a patch addressing the many problems with the PC version.

It's still not the 2012 trailer. I'm sure they left out a lot of things the xml can't change. Still looks very impressive however.

I could forgive the developer on the graphics if the game actually ran well, but it runs like Sh!t for the kind of visuals your getting in return..

Waiting to see how many others will actually take the time to do this. Not many.

Right. It would be different if Watch Dogs was actually a good game worth playing, then we would see a thriving mod community GTA or Elder Scrolls has. As it stands...in a couple of months no one will be playing this.
