VR the fad got crushed before it was relessed.....

So if you guys missed the Win 10 announcement, MS has taken a different route concerning VR with hololens. Unlinke normal VR headsets Hololens brings the images into your world and the holograms are able to interact with the devices in your world. Pretty much it trumps Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus, it's pretty much Illumiroom only better. Also it's completely wireless. It also has a CPU, GPU, HPU, and built in speakers.

Other points of the presentation:

• Cross-play between Xbox1, PC
• Stream games from XBox to any PC, Tablet, or Phone
• Windows 10 coming to Xbox1
• Surface Hub (Basically a 84" 4k Surface)
• Universal apps across all MS devices
• DX12

Microsoft is definitely putting some pressure on all of their competitors with what they revealed during the event.

Loved this announcement, really looking forward to what developers can do with this, because the tech might be there, but that's nothing without developers

I can't believe so many are invested in this shit. They tried this crap back in the late 80's/early 90's and it was a total fail.

Granted the technology is more advanced now, but still.

Your point is moot. No one is watching you play the game, doesn't matter what the hardware looks like but rather what it does.

if it doesn't involve strapping something to my face, then i'm all for it

... its not even heavy, who cares about goofy? the oculus rift as actually quite light and really good to use (well... minus its resolution.... which is easily improved).

Anyway TC ... how does this "crush VR" when VR and AR are 2 very different things? idiot...

Since when did the hologram concept require glasses? I always thought holograms were interactive projections.... not requiring eye wear.... talk about mis-named... its just a more powerful form of AR...
