Interesting mix, actually. Also, pretty hilarious that no Xbox One or PS4 games were nominated.

I expect GTA V to take it, honestly, though VGAs did surprise us last year.

Surprising that they put Mario up. 2010 they didn't put Galaxy 2 up because it wasn't apart of their audience or whatever. VGAs suck and are only exciting for the reveals. Just don't watch the show.

Ehhh, no one expects a new console to deliver a world-class game at launch. The last time that happened was with the Wii and Zelda Twilight Princess, which was only because Nintendo delayed it to cross-release it on Wii and then Gamecube a month later.

It's at the end of the year *after* that we expect a GOTY nominee to emerge. A "Gears of War", if you will, a game that highlights what next-gen gaming is all about.

Obviously, if such a game hasn't emerged by November of next year for either the One or PS4 that would be cause for disappointment.

I put more stock in the Vidya Gaem Awards than the Video Game Awards, which I think is a pretty reasonable gauge for how much I value this cancerous abomination that Spike is still growing.

The Last of Us got my GOTY vote but Tomb Raider took a couple more for than I would have guessed. It's been a great year for gamers.

How can anyone expect PS4 and X1 games to be considered, the consoles are not even out yet properly?
GTA5 and TLOU and Bioshock have this in the bag as they have done in other Game of the Year awards.

Played all of them except Super Mario 3D World. I'd vote The Last of Us, but Super Mario 3D World has an opportunity to take it I'd wager.

I haven't played Mario but I'll still vote Last of Us. I won't play Mario till around Christmas time, most likely, so there is no point waiting.
