Upload Studio for Xbox One gets a massive update

Starting today, Xbox One's application for video editing gets a 253mb patch which massively changes its capabilities.

Now you can:

• edit clips up to 30 minutes
• have 15 video segments in a single video
• use ready-made templates for creation
• add splash screens
• use text inside videos
• use green screen effects
• use transitions
• change the sequence of invidiual videos in the entire video segment
• use double-box which is from my understanding any type of a combination of video types, such as two Kinect-recorded pieces of footage or two Game DVR clips at once, and any combination of the two
• use specific types of sequences for your videos, like intros, outros with their own individual effects

Sounds great, although they didn't say anything about being able to upload clips in the background, which to me was previously the single biggest bummer, apart from maybe lack of mass-queue of your uploads.

two things I want:

1. turn off auto recording

2, give me the ability to delete multiple videos at once

You know you can do both already? 1st point - you can disable it in settings -> preferences, though I think it will also make you unable to record manually in some games but as for the second point: just go to Upload (not Upload Studio), select my clips, then manage clips and you can mass select and delete.

xbox software updates continue dominance

whens sony gonna do a ps4 update or wiiU

microsoft is updating every month its just giving people what they want all the time every months stronger an stronger while ps4 an wiiU just have whatever they started out with ppl see stuff evolving over as MS i dont see that with nintend or sony

My laptop's been whining at me to do updates a lot recently. Now I know what it's like to own an Xbone.

Cool, more options for creating videos can only be a good thing. Can't wait to be able to take screenshots.

Have you ever played Battlefield 4? OMG. I have so many clips that damn game recorded on its own.

In fairness, the Kinect acts an excellent doorstop/personal self-defence implement.

yeah, turn off auto clips would be nice. I always think I unlock an achievement and nope, Video clip uploaded. :(

Good point about uploading in the background, I would like to see that too.....for now I'll settle for snapping Reddit while I wait. Great update overall, I love using upload

'Xbox record that' we need more games that create these type of moments. Have not had anything as good as Titanfall to use it. KI is a close second.

Is the Xbox Upload Studio really better than the PS4 Share features? Iv'e got an X1 but haven't really dug into the US, but I just recently saw a vid completely done on PS4 and it seemed pretty good to me? What are the major differences?

Sounds like a solid update. As I barely touch the options available to me on the PS4, it's not anything I particularly care about though.
