Why would PC enthusiasts want old tech? Oh well you can just use your PS4 contoller from the start.

Until games start using the PS4 controller as standard I see no need to change. I know many PC gamers are still using Logitech PS2 style controllers.

We're almost into 2014 to be fair. I mean it's not like it's a big upheavel. There are existing controllers to use until then.

I still have a feeling that the 360 controller will remain the best anyway.

For PC appplications the DS4 would be more interesting than the One one. Trackpad, gyroscope accelerometer things, doesn't it also have a speaker or something?

Either way they both need to be wireless (don't know if either company will bother). Or I'll either just keep using my 360 controller or spend that would-be-DS4 money on the Owlgrasper instead, which is wireless and which functions will function on day one. The whole thing is designed for PC, it's not some secondary priority.

Not at the beginning those features won't work, but Microsoft I can't fathom why they don't have at least some support for the X1 controller from the start.

People seem to be forgetting a bit about PC gaming. But I'll summarise it by pointing out the key word in CutnpasteusX's post.

That word is - native.

Most PC games that support controllers are likely to still have 360 button prompts, as the 360 has the largest userbase for the time being.

The DS4 has basic support on the pc so how will it be any different than using the 360 controller?

The PS4 is totally compatible either. Both parties need a little time to create drivers and test them appropriately.

I think we both know he ment AA batteries, as opposed to on board rechargeable batteries included within the controller.

He probably thinks that there's no such thing as rechargeable batteries. Anyway I'd sooner have a wired XBox One controller unless the DS4 is a lot better this time around and it has to be for me to put up with that awful analog placement

Guess I'm waiting until 2014 to buy a new controller for my PC.
