PS5 true BC according this grain of salt rumor coming from r/gamingleaksandrumors and ofcourse patent update

Seems lots of PS3 games been popping up on PS5 stores such as Dead or Alive PS3 edition and Prince of Persia HD collection in the link. DoA5 is on PSNow as well as native PS4 version so it can be an error but, Prince of Persia is not on the service. Is this the BC grail? PS3 superior library best console exclusives ever finally brought back? FYI:

If PC already emulates more than 60% of PS3s library there's absolutely no reason for the PS5 not to do better than that. I just hope your owned games can be played for no extra money but I'm pretty sure Sony will allow that.

Great that Xbox pushed the market in this direction, no doubt a positive move for everyone.

If it will be released as an add on software for the PS5, maybe the PS3 emulation guys on PC will be able to extract the code and implement it on their own side.

@pmanden: persona 4 is on steam, it's even 4k.

I posted this on the other thread but once again: If this is some kind of subscription service then they can go f**k themselves; but if they implement a way to do it that stays in your console i'm in, even if it means i have to pay a price for the "app" or a small fee for each game i'm willing to play.

fun fact the cell chip is still being manf for use in a server mobo. for ps now games(ps3 versions ). seeing it far to costly to do emulation of it.

I won't ever care about BC as I tend to look forward. But, this makes me happy for those who do care and for gaming in general.

I knew announcing a Sony event well ahead of time would lead to rumors... though this seems highly plausible. It's not like any groundbreaking solution needs to be made to get older legacy PS1 and PS2 titles, but getting back to where Sony was with their PS1/PS2 classics catalog on the PS3's digital store would be a great addition.

its not the reason why gamers buy next gen consoles. not once have any one said before I want to buy a series x or ps5 to play original xbox games or ps1-3 games.

is it icing on the cake yes but no one buys next gen consoles to play older games.

if so xbox one would of out sold ps4.

am I happy the ps5 plays ps4 games of course.

newer games is what is more important not older games.

so in realty bc does not matter but its a good feature to have.

Cows are ready to count these games as part of their Gen9 library, and when PC gamers try to do they say they won't let them.
