1: The fact that anyone can pick it up and play. There are games for everyone, and no matter what hardware that a person has, there is a bunch of stuff that will run on it. For modern games you have Steam and for older ones you have Amazon for physical copies and GOG for digital.
2: Mods. You can get small things that help a game like the flashlight mod for Doom 3 or major things that completely change the game like Brutal Doom for Doom 1/2.
3: You can customize all the graphics options: There are a lot of settings that I like a specific way. I don't like motion blur, I want my FoV near 90-100, and bloom is turned way down when I can help it. If I buy a console game I'm stuck with it.
4: The low prices: I've been dipping into console gaming the last few months because I've had a major urge to play some JRPGs and its so damn expensive. I usually get new games on PC for $20-$40 within a couple months of launch, and under $10 within a year of release. Nintendo games especially, they make good games but its ridiculous how long they hold value, and Sony isn't much better, but at least Sony has collections where I can snatch up their first party stuff on the cheap.
5: I decide the budget. I could go for something super high end and not worry about settings for the next 5 years, or I could budget my build and get something medium of the line and just keep AA off and be good for the same amount of time.
contrary to what some think of my comments..I LOVE my pc..I couldnt live without it. I watch tv/movies,I download tons of music,I use it for my photography, email, social networking, looking up information, videos, and I even play some games.Games are ok for me on PC.Not a big fan of pc gaming, but HAVE done it..There are many pluses although "TO ME" graphics are not one of them.Im not a graphicswhore...Being able to run older games and older console games with some programs is a nice plus. ALTHOUGH usually takes a bit of learning and research to get working. Being able to use a controller on some games is nice..BUT sometimes requires too much work to get to work on MOST games. BUT over all for gaming the pc does ok..this is MY opinion and what I would tell anyone that asks me about how i feel about PC's..and gaming on them..I dont care what others have to say about my comment so dont bother arguing and debating and wasting our time..
Pretty much.
