10. donkey kong
don't you just love donkey kong? i know i do, i used to play DKC2 on my GBA all the time, hell even DK jungle beat is a great game, very underrated here, but it's still a great, innovative, title IMO.
9. brain series
love'em, hate'em, i don't care, i don't care that you say that they only last for a short while, i don't care if you say "TEH 7.0 GAMES!!!!" i don't care, the brain series really has shown what nintendo's plan is, simple games that are both challengin and fun, multiplayer is a blast too, and best of all it's just starting, the brain series going on strong, but and it's showing no signs of slowing down.8. advanced/battalion wars series
the advanced wars has been a wonderful strategy 2D series on the handhelds, what surprised me most about this is how the game changed when it went to 3D, IMO i think it's really easy for people to mistake them for being 2 different series ( it's still one series right? :?) 7. fire emblem series
by far the most under-appreciated (sp?) RPGs ever, this SRPG not only has fantastic story telling technique, but it also has a really deep combat system, a wonderful series. 6. super smash Bros. series
really now does this need any explaining? to me the SSB series is the most revolutionary series since street fighters, and it's my personal favorite fighting series of all time.... thing is though, fighting is not my favorite genre ;).5.pikmin series
easily my favorite console RTS out there, not that i have played alot anyway, but the atmosphere that pikmin has is great, controlling them, going into caves, collecting "treasures" etc., really great stuff, the game is also challenging AND addective, the perfect formula for the hardcore fan 4.pokemon series
forget the kiddy looks, forget the awful shows, the awful movies etc., and play the game for what it is, a brilliant masterpiece, some say it's been rehashed enough but really, what hasn't these days? and even if that's true it doesn't make the games ane less appealing, go get yourself a copy of a RPG pokemon, you'll fall in love trust me. 3. metroid series
ok i'll admit i never played the 2D ones, but i have played the 3D ones and it blew me away, if i heard correctly, the 2D ones are even BETTer than the 3D ones, overall, the series is different,and deep, if you patience, this game is like no other. 2. mario series
this is the best series out there, not my favorite, but definitly the best because this series revolutionized the entire gaming industry more than once, this game actually REVIVED the entire gaming industry, and it has left us with so many different types of gameplay, from sports to RPGs, and the best thing is, it perfect every one of them, mario is easily the best series out there. 1. the legend of zelda series
