Which do you prefer and why? I have a PS4 and although the controller is an amazing improvement the X1 controller just feels perfect. My friend just picked up an X1 today and it just fits perfectly in your hands. I do like the PS4's buttons a lot more, but the X1 is better ergonomic controller imo.

I'm a Playstation fan first, but own an original Xbox and 360, and I always preferred the Xbox controllers for their build quality and feel. Both the Xbox S controller and 360 controller trumped the Dual Shock 2 and 3. But I have to say, The PS4 controller is even better. The extra width, excellent new trigger buttons and grippier analog sticks are an amazing improvement, and it's size is perfect for small or large hands. It feels very substantial, and not like a cheap toy anymore. I've yet to hold the Xbox One controller, but it sounds very nice as well.

There's definitely no beating the DS4! Sony made it very-very good. X1 controller could be good also, but it doesn't have built in rechargeable so DS4 wins. Lol

The PS4 controller is nice. Haven't tried the xbones (glad to see they fixed the d-pad). The PS4 touch pad is pretty cool. I thought it was a gimmick but it is pretty useful. Its more ergonomic now too. Smooth as butter.

@ChiefFreeman: The Xbox S controller and 360 are the same exact controller.

I slightly favor the DS4. X1 sticks are a bit too loose and bumper compression isn't the best. It also feels a bit small.

DS4's light bar is a drain on the batteries without much incentive, but the sticks are ideal and triggers handle quite well.

Flip a coin, you'll like either.

I have a PS4. Love my PS4!

And I refuse to ever get an xbone

But I have used the xbone controller several times at conventions

The DualShock 4 was much better to me.

The DualShock 4 is the greatest controller ive ever used in fact.

I prefer the DS4 more this time around. There was a couple of unnecessary changes to the Xbone controller that weren't comfortable for me, vs the 360.

But ultimately, they both are overall great controllers.

In my opinion most people commenting here haven't tried both controllers. The only opinion I can give right now.

I'm still not sold on the touchpad and without a PS Eye the lights on the DS4 is useless. Is there sixaxis controls on the DS4? If so, I think that and the touchpad are gimmicks that won't have any uses in multiplat games. The DS4 is an improvement over the DS3, but the XO controller is just better.

As a fan of the Xbox 360 controller i have to say I was very impressed with the DS4.

I first held it at my friends house on launch night and really couldn't believe how much better it was than the DS3. Now holding an X1 controller today I see that they are very close. There's still something about the asymmetrical analog stick layout that is more comfortable for my hands, so the X1 has a slight edge, but the PS4's controller is no slouch.

@HoVDaHuSTLa1: ummmm, no it's not. Theyre quite different. Did the Xbox S have bumper buttons? No. Did it have home button? No. Was its overall aesthetics as good as the 360 controller? No. It also smartly ditched the silly black and white buttons from the S controller. So, no, they aren't the same.
