Will it be the first game to win GOTY twice in a row?

It didn't win it the first time..............................
The Legend Of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds did.

It didn't win GOTY last year.
peoples choice GS > select GS officials
plus it won the most awards of any game last year.
so yes, it did win goty
haha, If they'd consider remasters for GOTY then TLOU would be light-years behind MCC... just sayin. :P

No. "The people" don't have half a brain to be able to play a strategy game, a metroidvania or even a zelda game. So "the people" aren't a good measure of a games quality.

zelda was actually quite easy, i dont know what you are talking about
The two best games I have played in 2014 are Hearthstone and Banished. Bayonetta 2 comes in a couple of months, though, and it looks like the runaway winner to me.
@Bread_or_Decide: Agreed. TLoU is a great game and it definitely earned its award last year but I don't count re-releases.
So far this year it's between Infamous SS and Destiny based on the beta.
What ? Seriously what ?
So Divinity: Original Sin, Shovel Knight and Wolfenstein The New Order didn't even happen ?
Infamous didn't even get a game of the month nomination !
yes, it did
No, it didn't.
SW doesn't do People's Choice. It's the equivalent of running off to Metacritic.

oh im sorry, do you speak for SW? my apologies
also zelda only won 6 goty awards last year while tlou won 249.

its clear who the real winner is
Divinity: Original Sin is the clear GOTY favorite so far
I does look great. I should add a disclaimer to my other post that I have not played Original Sin yet.

No, I don't, but the way we play SW is pretty clear to everyone, except a few. Including you.
It's very simple who won last year. A Link Between Worlds. The Last of Us didn't.

I kind of like Metacritic, actually. People's Choice is more like going off of user reviews, though. People aren't going to vote for a game they haven't played, and the best games aren't always the most played.

don't cast your condescending comments on me because TLoU won Goty and Zelda couldn't compete.
i love how you are only able to fall back on a few opinions of people who work at GS.
god i love being right

I think People's Choice has its positives and negatives. It's mass voting, so anything can happen. It's just that we never use that when discussing GOTY awards in System Wars. We've always run with what GS picked.

No. It's just how we do things here in System Wars. Sorry you didn't get the memo. A Link Between Worlds Won.
I couldn't care less about GOTY awards, whether it's GS or a bunch of users.
@faizanhd: I don't base my opinion on other's favorites. The only thing that matters is how much I enjoyed the game. In other words, your opinion doesn't matter to me and like wise, I don't expect my opinion to matter to you.
In your comment you stated that the gamespot GOTY is between Infamous and Destiny. You were stating it as FACT not opinion.

**** no. I'll copy and paste what I put on Amazon:
"I love TLoU, and consider it to be one of the greatest accomplishments in the entire medium of gaming. That is why I'm so torn and pissed off about the state of release of this remaster, which I was hugely anticipating. After having put some serious time into it (about eight playthroughs to get New Game+ completed on mostly all difficulties) I've come to the conclusion that it was hastily pushed out the door and needed a few more weeks (if not months) in the quality assurance oven.
It is plagued with bugs, and I don't mean the rare anomaly every once in a great while. They are reproducible each time one plays and this speaks nothing more than a rush job. The game suffers from texture pop and fade in, objects and enemies disappear, scripting sometimes doesn't trigger, there's audio glitches, there's a huge issue with the gamma early on that covers the screen with an ugly white sheen (during the leaning buildings just after leaving the quarantine zone with Tess and Ellie) crashes, etc, etc. Even worse, some of these bugs go past the superficial to impact the playability of the game itself. AI can at times seemingly see through walls now, therefore, stealth is affected (this is especially apparent in Winter). I've had guys become alerted when there was no way for them to see me. I've tested this on both versions in the same exact circumstances and the PS3 did not suffer from it.
Today I tried to start a New Game+ on Survivor. Loaded the file, selected "Start New Game+".....it began the game with Sarah waking in her bed. No opening cutscene. Odd I thought, but no biggie as I've played it before. That is, until I got my first gun.....not upgraded. Stats, no upgrades. Yet whenever I boot the game up and continue, I'm told "Continue New Game+". Update: I attempted to continue my game today, and it kicked me back all the way to the start.....opening cutscene and all. Got my gun, all my upgrades present. This is crazy. Chalk up yet another significant bug to the pile. Oh yea, trophies are also glitched.
But by far, the worst offender is the human enemy AI scripting can fail to initiate when the player arrives on scene. Ofentimes you'll wander into an area only to find guys placed, guns drawn, their vision cones working, but otherwise standing still as statues. In David's town this is most noticeable (I'd say at least 25-50% of the time it can be counted upon to happen in one particular building). This is the definition of a game-breaking bug, because it happens throughout and often the enemy placements are right next to one another. There goes stealth.
There's no way these problems passed by Naughty Dog unnoticed, yet the game was allowed to be released in this condition. I've no doubt that Sony was breathing down their necks with a very strict release window and they did their best so I'm not as pissed at them as I am at Sony in this case, but nevertheless I've never seen any remaster that is so unfinished it compromises the integrity of the gameplay itself until now. I can deal with pop-in, FR drops, surface glitches and minor inconsistencies. But many of the bugs I've seen are not these and they impact the game's core playability. Based on the AI patrol scripting bug alone I can't recommend this version. The improvement in the framerate and visual fidelity and other bonuses are amazing, but this remaster breaks a core mechanic at parts; that being stealth. In every single play-through I've seen it happen at least once, oftentimes more. That's inexcusable. This is very unfortunate as the framerate gives a world of difference and makes it much more playable than the PS3 version and if this bug didn't exist I'd be much less harsh and probably would recommend it, even in light of its other shortcomings."
Besides the fact that I don't believe the same game should win GotY twice in a row, this "remaster" is one of the worst I've seen, even though the framerate/resolution is a huge improvement. It better be patched and soon, because in certain parts it's not only buggy, it's outright broken. Pisses me off.

I never count the peoples choice due to bias towards particular platforms. For example, I guarantee a Sony exclusive will always beat out another because of how rabid their fans are lately. I can't take that seriously.

ive been around longer than you have, there are no rules in SW.

And you've hardly posted as much. I've been active in this community for quite some time now, and have seen how we treat GOTYs.
There are rules in SW. We even have a "Survival Guide"

I'm sorry, but basing your opinion, or anything really, on a people's choice award, is essentially relying on ad populum. Both official GOTY and people's choice awards are equally useless.

so because I haven't posted as much means that I know significantly less than someone that has. got it.
survival guide? anyone who follows that obviously shouldn't be here.
next.

Well, yes. You've hardly been here. It's a simple concept.
Oh, it's just for determining flops and all that. Keeping SW fun. Faction wars, etc. Same goes for GOTY. Keep going, baby.

Doesn't matter. Since 2003. Little over 2000 posts. It's obvious you haven't been interacting with the community as much. I, freedomfreak, SW God, have.
I mean, at the very least, you should've clarified People's Choice. You can't expect people to walk in here and not bring up Zelda.

Maybe I wanted to, just to rub it in their face how many more awards TLoU has won over Zelda.
249 over 6, that's just embarrassing
subjectively thinking, we were both right, zelda did win GoTY on GS from critics and TLoU won GOTY on GS from readers
Maybe I wanted to, just to rub it in their face how many more awards TLoU has won over Zelda.
249 over 6, that's just embarrassing
Yeah, riveting.
Zelda still won GOTY here at Gamespot over TLOU.

And TLOU still won GOTY at Gamespot Peoples choice over Zelda and about 200+ other awards. Your point?
GS GOTY 2013 was The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
Embarrassing for who?
For anyone who praises Zelda for winning GOTY 2013
why? it did win GOTY 2013
