And they look... Weird. Like if they were sped up or something. But still, these are the first 60 frames videos on Youtube. Ever.

My PC has a freaking core i7 haswell and had to change the settings to performance for the video to run better. I always run the pc on power saver because that way it doesn't get that hot.

It looks weird, for some reason, as if was just at 2X speed.

You know, I had my doubts about Hardline, but seeing it at 60fps I'm SOLD! PRE-ORDERING NOW!

Brilliant, EA.

Let's demonstrate 60 fps using a stacatto MTV hypercut trailer.

They deserve every lack of sale that results from this waste of a promotion and the thinly veiled regurgitation that this game appears to be.

It may be possible that your eyes cannot recognize anything over 30 then, and the limitation is on your eyes. Most people can easily distinguish the difference between 30 and 60, there's a reason more movies and games are aiming for 60. I can even see the difference between 60-80 and 80-100. But that's just me.

Not surprised a cow thinks 60fps looks weird. Guess you guys just aren't used to watching games run the way they were meant to.

I'm really happy they added support for it. It will make SW alone very interesting anyway haha

Only thing is most console capture devices capture at a 30fps cap at 1080p. Will be great for capturing and uploading PC footage though

Uhm. The 60 FPS just looks smoother dunno how people are saying its double the speed. Perhaps cows are too comfortable with 30 FPS.

But the Human eye can't see above 24 frames a second, or 30 depending on what region you come from... because... TV.

I suppose those who are used to playing games hovering around 30FPS think it looks weird.

- They say the human eye can't see above 30fps

- They notice immediately the video's moving "faster".

Yep. More frames simply makes it look closer to how we see things in real life.

don't know what's your problem. It does look weird on video because its so consistent, not even a frame less or more causing judder. I'm one of those people that always care about frame-rate since the first time I joined this site 10 years ago. I have a decent PC too which I mostly use to emulate old games because PC gaming sucks, and is not easy to have consistent frame-rate at 1080p and 60 fps with ultra settings even on a 780 ti either. So I have no idea what you're talking about, unless you have a $2000 PC with top of the line everything and sli and stuff. And even then games are never so consistent, not even old ones, they are always a few frames below or a few frames too high and that slight fluctuation causes judder.

This is what Gsync is supposed to look like. Extremely smooth famerates. It does look a little weird in videos because it's really consistent

He's not. Although I don't understand the logic of those who actually believe that statement. You can't see above 30fps, but you say it looks "double the speed" or "really smooth?" You even see the difference at like 48fps, for example with The Hobbit.

Will be good for gameplay but it looks weird in trailers and especially in video. Film is fine at 24fps, you don't need extra frames when the camera is already capturing blurred images that will flow together seamlessly anyway, so I don't know why people seem intent on using HFR footage like it looks better.

@-Karmum-: Well, IMO framerates above 24 are detrimental for movies or anything that requires no input. I'm not sure if there is a way to prove it, but due to the choppiness of the standard 24 fps your mind fills in the gaps with illusions. Essentially it exercises your imagination, even if just a a bit. The higher the framerate, the less interesting watching a movie will become.

But none of this has to do with video games, so I'll stop.

A lot of these debates come down to what you're used to. If movies had always been 60fps from the beginning and then suddenly went to 24fps people would react the same if not worse. Movies look weird at high framerates mainly because you're not used to it and it's hard get over than sudden change.

It's not your imagination. It's the exposure time of the film. Every frame features movement blur.

Typically I prefer 24fps movies as well, but the one instance where I make an exception is with 3D. Regular 3D movies look horrendous and cause me to have headaches and feel sickly, but with higher framerate 3D like in the Hobbit, it made the experience so much more enjoyable.
