If that is the case and Naughty Dog is working on it, that would be a reason to buy the PS4.

That would be awesome on the PS4. I thought for sure we would of saw one on the PS3.

#5 Posted by PhazonBlazer (11707 posts) -

Well Activision certainly isn't using it.

I would love a well made Crash game.

#8 Posted by Spartan070 (16333 posts) -

Would be a definite buy for me when I finally get a PS4.

#9 Posted by charizard1605 (56959 posts) -

That would be super interesting if true. Mario could use some competition in the 3D platformer genre.

I know Crash Bandicoot is where Naughty Dog made a name for itself, but they shouldn't waste two years on a Crash anything, outsource that to another Sony studio, let Naughty Dog work on the latest mediocre gameplay blockbuster style movie games that cows love, otherwise the next Crash game might as well be called Knack 2.

the link says that the game's being produced by ND and Santa Monica, and those are the 2 top/highest tier devs of Sony. And both of those studios now have 2 teams each. Between ND and Santa Monica there are 4 studios. And Evolution Studios absorbed a huge part of the Project Gotham devs too after MS basically closed them down.

I think they easily have the man power for Uncharted, the new IP from Santa Monica + Crash Bandicoot by the new studios. If all this turns out true and the PS4 sells well we might end up with a bunch of exclusive games one after the other.

Crash Bash and Crash Team Racing were the high points of the franchise.

#14 Posted by bbkkristian (14946 posts) -

The originals were and are good enough for me. I could care less for a sequel/reboot.

Competition.

Actually all the PS crash games were great ... all of them

Let bygones be bygones. Even a well-crafted Crash game wouldn't be a difference-maker nowadays but in all honesty these games might've been fun in 90s but now they seem very limited. If that is indeed the case, then Sony is desperate for a mascot.

I'd love a new crash in hd, keep it exactly the same gameplay wise but with more levels and collectables, a level creator, high scores, rush levels. The game could be like a indie title.

Whatever it costs to get back crash Sony needs to get it. Crash is pretty synonymous with the origins and rise of the playstation. They sorely lack a series that people identify with the playstation.. Because most of all the major hit exclusive franchises on the psone have since gone multiplat, like Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, etc.

Sony really needs crash now. A few platformers, a crash team racing 2, and a crash bash 2 if handled right could all be massive hits.

Yes, do this.

Hell, do a Crash collection on Vita and I would buy it.

#21 Posted by daveg1 (20331 posts) -

eh? crash was utter crap try playing that today and tell me how it is after the first ten mins hahahah

Very interesting.

I'm betting a new Crash Bandicoot, even one made by Naughty Dog, would still be worse than Super Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie.

I remember how hard Sony advertised Crash vs Mario in the N64 days...... There was no competition though.

Context for the younglings. :P

I have no idea what Crash is, and im too lazy to google it. But AAA for sure since it's being developed by Naughty Gods and Santa Monica.

Fuck this.. Too many nostalgia-heads in gaming.. Naughty Dog is at their best when they are exploring and creating new experiences. We are already getting an uncharted which I may be okay with just because it seems like they are going in a completely new direction, but Santa Monica already dragged god of war on way too long. These guys are way too talented to be remaking and rehashing old shit

If they're gonna reboot Crash Bandicoot, they better combine it with Jak and Daxter! MAKE THEIR UNIVERSES INTERCONNECTED SOMEHOW

#29 Posted by AMD655 (4495 posts) -

Crash is awesome, well played ND if they can make another game, a reboot to old school ways would be epic, and will seal a massive for many people on a PS4.

#30 Posted by TheGuardian03 (21695 posts) -

I don't see ND making a good crash or jak game anymore, they're not what they used to be. i love the old and new ND.

thank goodness, this franchise needs to be revived.

#33 Posted by Sweenix (5399 posts) -

Would be pretty good, although the crash games never had the magic mario had.

#34 Posted by Netret0120 (2086 posts) -

I would buy Crash for PS4 but not at full price. I loved the crash games on my PS1

Crash warped!!!!

#35 Posted by rosko123 (515 posts) -

I miss platformers :( . But seriously if done right it could be amazing.

#36 Posted by AgentA-Mi6 (16260 posts) -

They can put to rest the Ratchet and Clank series, its borderline irrelevant next to an all time PS classic like crash.

Well at least you tried.

#38 Posted by YearoftheSnake5 (7331 posts) -

I haven't liked a Crash game since Crash Bandicoot 3 on the PSX. If Sony can capture the magic of those old games again, I may be tempted to get a PS4.

Crash >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mario

DO IT SONY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was hoping that would be a Syphon Filter game.

That would be super interesting if true. Mario could use some competition in the 3D platformer genre.

pfft, Crash should stay dead.

#41 Posted by aroxx_ab (9499 posts) -

I think it stays multiplat if it come, so xboner dont need to worry:)

SYPHON FILTER OMGGGGGGGGGGGG!

And Crash was always better than mario.

Bring both back SONY!!!! DO IT!!!!!

#44 Posted by Sefrix (876 posts) -

If it did come out (and was good like the original ones) I'd buy it for my kids in a instant and then most likely hog it for myself.

#45 Edited by jsmoke03 (12846 posts) -

highly doubt it....but i wouldnt mind the old advertisements of crash going to the ninty building with a megaphone talking crap to be ressurected again

#46 Edited by Floppy_Jim (25652 posts) -

ND and SMS developed, hell yeah. I have a feeling Syphon Filter will also be resurrected.

#47 Posted by KungfuKitten (20976 posts) -

Maybe it would sell if it was an FPS.
Look at the Wii U sales.

#48 Posted by Clock-w0rk (3238 posts) -

No.

I won't get myself hyped for this just to be disappointed yet again.

#49 Posted by Demonjoe93 (9560 posts) -

If that happens, I will be so excited.

Nah naughty dog could do it. They don't need to devote the entire team to it, it could just be a side project of sorts. It is just a crash bandicoot game after all, it isn't like motion capture studios, voice actors, big orchestrated soundtracks, lengthy big budget CG cinemas or a big writing staff is needed.

Soon as you start outsourcing a product from the people who made it great to begin with well.....youll end up with the last 2 or 3 crash games that sucked.
