Originally, I Am Legend (the book version) had vampires. I would go into detail but I don't want to spoil it. If you haven't read it, do yourself a favor and get that book.
On topic, an idea like that would be awesome. Personally, I think it should combine third-person shooting and RPG elements into one. However, it would focus more on shooting and like MGS3, you have to collect food and other supplies to keep your house running and safe. You'd have to watch out for traps and get home until sunset. The game ends when you find the cure or get captured (if you read the book, think of it that way). Good idea, no?

personally i do not want to see it made into a game because i don't think they could do it and still follow the originalstory. the movie was bad enough, a game would just be worse.

I think it has the possibility of making a great game in that universe but they should take another survivor from a different part of the world so they aren't tied down by the movie. I was a huge fan of the book long before the movie came out and they couldn't have done a worse job of translating it but the universe they made in the movie does have more potential for making a game.
