As the recentGamespot articlesstipulate it's been a rough year for the likes of Aussie gamer's, but hey as you also may of read there's some great new's today! the game that was full of ''high-impact violence'' Alien vs Predator, considered inappropriate for Australian audiences is going to be allowed into the country uncensored! :D

With the appeal for an R18+ rating to be included in the Australian rating system in montion now, this seems like a good herald/omen of this countries re-education on what it mean to game in this day and age. :)

Now I don't know about you but I reckon I'm going to support Sega now that they've stood up to our stubborn reveiw board, I'm going to shell out my cash and buy a full priced legitimate copy of AVP, in the hopes that in it's own way, my purchase will help along the idea of a broad and full rating system in Australia.

Now to all my fellow Aussie gamer's don't forget about your role in tuning up our nation attitude, that discussion paper on our Goverment's website won't fill itself out. Tell your freinds and spread the word, and just maybe we'll get somewhere with this! :D

I always thought it was kind of stupid that their max rating was 15 years old or something. Do they think all games are for kids?

To me the very notion that a few, anonymous people decide for an entire nation what they can or can't play/read/watch is very...disturbing...

I believe it to be appropriate to link to this due to the subject matter of this thread.

It'll likely get over 9000 copies sold in Australia anyway as a show of thanks to Sega. Me? I'll wait for reviews.

Not quite. All adult gamers are "nerds".

Well hell yes I am pleased. But we NEED an R18+ rating regardless.

I'm not an Aussie, but I am in support of this!

I'm so in support of this, I did something drastic. I bought tickets to Austria and will be there in January. Don't worry, I will be buying the game when I arrive!

I will also stop by the Anker Clock in Vienna and even see the Eiffel Tower while I'm out there in Europe, I'm to attend a very special Geography Seminar while visiting. Just bringing some humor to the thread, don't fret!

Seriously, This is great news, support Sega guys, send your gov't a message, and create a new sales precedent! Go Australia! :P

Lets hope the game is actually good then eh? I am more concerned about the R18+ rating being added for GOW3's sake at this point in time. Although i will just import it even if it doesnt get released here anyway.

again, Australia exposes the violence to minors. all ma15+ does is makes it easy for kids to get hold of violent games. pretty much every ma15+ game has r18 slapped over it here in nz so what does that say?
