I thought League of Legends was the most popular. It seems to be one of those games that everybody knows and all the young kids to college kids play.

It's one of the most popular in the West, but Asia is a completely different story. Their gaming habits aren't anything like what we're used to over here - in China, consoles are rare and most PC games are played in internet cafes. Most Chinese gamers don't even own copies of the games they play, they just buy game time. The only reason Crossfire was even brought up is that Cranler did a Google search for "most popular pc game" and then went off on that tangent like it was proving some kind of point.

Yeah,i live in Indonesia and most gamers here don't even know what the hell does GPU mean(lol),they also ONLY like online games(which explains why Crossfire made it here) and there are few gamers that are like me(AKA "real gamer"),gamers in Indonesia also don't know english which is why they only play games that have Indonesia as a language. Sooooo,you're right.

P.S How did you know about Asia being different?

While I have traveled to China, Southeast Asia, and in fact all over the world, my knowledge of this particular aspect of gaming just comes from paying attention to other cultures besides my own. I realize that America isn't the center of the world, as much as some of us would like it to be.

Yeah, pc gaming provides everything nowdays, many console gamesr have joined pc...ofcourse its not exlusive you can play on whatever platform you want, but pc has so many advantages that its worth bothering with.

Yet there are still some children that have some kind of affection to consoles or fear of trying something new that will do everything to bash pc and disscredit it to feel more secure about their choice playing games only on consoles....and then there are dudebros of the "pc is not for games, pc is for browsing and pron"

Anyway if you are 20 or older and you still use consoles as your primary gaming platform and post in these forums and argue about hardware... just grow up already and get a pc. No "nerd" should be arguing about specs and graphics and prices and not play on a pc.

It's only going to swing more and more in favor of PC as this console generation moves ahead. In a few years there are going to be bargain basement laptops that are cheaper and more powerful than the current consoles...and these things are supposed to be around for 8 years? No amount of optimization will ever make up for hardware that underpowered.

I'm amazed I used to think PC only beat each console alone. But recent research I actually discovered it beats all 3 at once in hardware sales, software sales, gfx/performance, e-sports or regular competitive gaming, best version of multiplats, and high rated games! Maybe one day a super console will be released that on its own can beat PC in these fields :)

Heck last gen consoles were outclassed one year after they started, this gen was outclassed two years before they were even released. I do believe that is gen will at best last 5 years before a new console.

I pointed out why pc's higher revenue isn't much to brag about. Did you know that the PS 4 is over $1,300 in some countries? Did you know that consoles were banned in the worlds biggest country for the last 14 years?

Winning an unfair fight isn't anything to brag about.

It is valid, that's why sites compare pc revenue vs console revenue. Those sites understand the very different environment of the console market and that the closest you can get to an apples to apples comparison is pitting all consoles vs pc.

If someone wants to game on console they have multiple choices, if someone wants to game on pc they have no choice.

Are you saying that if MS and Nintendo dropped out that the console market revenue would drop by 66%? Only if you think this would you think it's ok to compare one console vs pc.

As the video said in the past the architecture was weird so things got better overtime. Now not only both consoles are weak but the architecture is similar to pc. So things will get better on pc the whole "console optimization" will go away. With dx12 and the constantly advancing hardware games will run better.

As for bad ports, they existed on consoles too. fear on consoles doesnt look as good as the pc version. Far cry classic doesnt look as good as on pc and thee are entire sections missing and hl2 on xbox looks like crap. Not to mention risen.

I wonder now that uibcrap has no excuse on Unity, is it finally gonna run well? But ofcourse they gonna keep giving the pc versions to that crappy ubi kiev studio.

Crysis from 2007 still beats anything on console crysis 2 from 2011 is toned down in graphics, metro 2033 and bf3 run on low settings on consoles. Thats how consoles gonna be in 2-3 years.

Personally i was a PC gamer when i was younger. I built my own rigs and i was a beast online. Now im 27 and i only play on consoles. I got bored of PC gaming, it was too nerdy and lack of big exclusives. I rather just sit back and play big games like Uncharted 4 instead of talking how good Star Citizen looks and hope to play that flop when im 30 years old lol and having to buy a $1000 980ti to run it good xD. I'm still beast at games, i just dont bother being a nerd anymore xD

I kind of feel the same way. I used to be a primarily console gamer, but then last gen shifted to becoming a primarily PC gamer.

1 Generation of PSN on top of PS4's cost. Let's use $800 self-made PC. Lets not include the insane game sales on PC either for your sake.

• Far More aaa and aa titles. Exponentially more exclusives.
• More competitive games and scene.
• Better version of multiplats (aka most games).
• Mods and full backwards compatibility.
• More control devices.

Not 1 system can come close.

"console" describes specific types of systems whose functionality has been restricted in some areas in order to enhance others, typically to provide an excellent service in one specific task eg: gaming, radiology.

xbox 360 is clearly an arrangement of components which sum together to provide a working experience - system. that system is a console. it is also a console platform.
