The Order the perfect game for people with low standard?

Shadowfall has an abysmal campaign, so I don't see why not.

It's a good rental for the weekend. Saying people have low standards because they like a certain game is childish.

A weekend rental means its already low standard

Standards are upto the individual purchasing the game. You and I have various standards for games, one of mine is I want games that can last me a good few weeks before 100% the game. Depends what you want out of a game and whether that game caters to you.

The Order wasn't that bad of a game. It just wasn't anywhere near as good as it should have been. Hell it was Steampunk King Arthur. It could have been great. Focusing on graphics over game play is never good. Loading your game up with QTEs is never good either.

thedork_knight wasn't necessarily talking about GS scores tho but quality in general. Though every game has its fans, the consensus is that Shadowfall has a really bad campaign. Amazing graphics but the pacing is about as exciting as old waffles. If you liked SF's campaign, I have to wonder if there are any FPS campaigns that you DON'T like.

Thats such a dumb statement. The game was a tech demo...it was an average game that looked really good...so it was for anyone who wanted to play familiar gameplay with a little movie twist with good eye candy.

The game didn't meet many expectations...but it wasn't bad...it was just the most basic shooter.

I had fun with it....and if you're calling me a typical console kid then I guess SHOGUN 2, Civ 5, UT2K4, Tribes 2, STALKER, Quake and all those other PC titles that I love are kids games as well.

It's not about having shitty standards....it's about being able to enjoy a game for what it is and not be a jaded prick bashing everything that isn't Half Life 2.

Nah, I think anyone nomatter thier platform of choice disliked what they saw of The Order. Heck you see alot of Cows around here bashing it just as much.

The game was a flop, a pretty damn poor game, which was at best average, and at worst outright bad. It looked great, and reminds me of this gens lair.

So no I do not think console mainly gamers have lower standards as such, and everyone can tell a bad game when they see it.

What makes The Order painful is that it held so much potential and it got wasted by the absolute lack of vision when it came to gameplay. The devs seems to simply have forgotten that it was a game. And gunned for Graphics and a need to push a story that was far from structured well enough to carry the game, even if it could, The game would still catch flak for the gameplay and odd choices the Devs made.

Maybe the developer thought the game would push the cows skills to the limit. Like 'whoa which button do I press next?'.

I think they some what underestimated the cows dexterity.

As opposed to COD on Xbox for all those years and being able to play strategy games on PC with one hand.

I am fascinated by The Order. No way was I going to pay full price for it but when it comes down to about half price I'll take a look at it just to see if it's really as bad as most people say lol.

The Order is hardly a CoD in its interactivity. The Order involves just as much watching, QTEs, walking and observing irrelevant objects as any actual gameplay. Even the boss battles are QTEs.

Strategy games are foremost about engaging your brain also people use the keyboard as well. It's far quicker to use keyboard shortcuts.

Didn't know anyone actually liked that games campaign, also despite the rating it was still a flop. Cows were hyping SF massively and it got a 7.

And I play Civ 5 with one hand (using my mouse) b/c, while you do use your brain more than other games, still doesn't require keyboard shortcuts.

They don't require keyboard short cuts but it helps, especially with RTS games.

But the point is, the object of the strategy games isn't physical skills, it's mental skills.

It's just a different type of skill.

It doesn't make it better or worse.

The skills sets aren't in question.

Civ 5 does what it does well in gameplay in its genre, for example. The Order doesn't excel well in gameplay in its genre.

You brought up strategy, I just pointed out that it wasn't an apples to apples comparison. It's one of the few genres that isn't about timing, co-ordination etc.

What...The...****....Comparing one of the highest skill-cap, involved, and/or complex genres with The Order? You can play PC strategy games with a finger and it'd be more involved than a majority of PS4's games, much less The Order.

Nothing. Thats why there is a / instead of =. The complexity and or apm in strategy games is off the charts compared to most console titles, much less the most easy-mode press X to win movie-game game ever made.
