Huh, Crysis 3, Ryse, Driveclub and Killzone SF didn't get raving reviews.

And Destiny, AC Unity and Halo MCC were all slammed for being shit/broke. Note: Halo MCC early embargo reviews didn't play multiplayer. The ones that did. after it went live, such has GS, rated it low.

I won't be surprised to see TO1886 get hit with 5 and 6s around.

I'm mostly talking about Unity. Which did not get slammed. Battlefield 4, didn't get slammed either.

Slammed would be telling people 'This game is broken, don't play it'. Not giving it like a 7 and just casually note there are game breaking bugs.

on GS? I'd say a 6.0. If it's anything lower I may consider not getting it. With a game like this a lot of the score will be based on the reviewers personal preferences and taste over how well it accomplishes what it set to do as a game. ala TLOU GS score.

overall I think MC should be good 7-8 range.

@R4gn4r0k: Having not played Unity, i don't know the degree of how broken it was, but i can get your point. Still, they didn't let the game off and praise it casually.

Also, wasn't BF4 a case of press multiplayer? Driveclub was like this. The press played on a special server so they didn't experience the issues the game suffered for weeks after launch.

Halo MCC definitelly didn't get away with it once multiplayer was live.

But my response was about gfx. Reviewer definitelly don't give high scores for it. If The Oder 1886 is average in reviewer's eyes, they'll score like that.

Gonna get a 5 at best. Graphics don't do shit for a game. Ryse got a 4 but this seems to have slightly better mechanics

I'm going to go with an 8 here.

It looks mindless fun, even if it is shallow, sometimes you just want to shoot things, and the production values are top notch, i have my doubts with this game, but now it doesn't look that bad...not that great either, but i'm guessing this have an 8 on lock here.

Press/review events are something that have bothered me for a long while.

At least have the decency to tell your readers you went to a press/review event. Instead of trying to hide it.

Some reviewers just don't have any ethics. But I'm not one who should just treat everyone the same. There are many great reviewers out there too.

And yeah, Ryse is a good example of a brilliant looking game not scoring well :)

@R4gn4r0k: The problem is, if thye don't offer a review event for multiplater, they can't give you a review on/before launch, so you end up having to wait.

Honestly though, if they're reviewing multiplayer functions and it's up before release then obviously it has to be on press dedicated servers or events and not when normal people are playing.

Similar to a beta, it might be stable at first, but come release, it crashes constantly.

-Graphics will look mediocre in actual gameplay (HUD), being beaten by several PC games on Ultra. Sad for its only selling point.

-Sub HD, Sub 30 fps, Black Bars, Blur, Film Grain.
