The Legend of Zelda Dominates Social Media During E3

Nintendo may be a mess, the NX may be building up to be a complete disaster, and I have no idea what they are doing at E3- but the one thing they are good at still is making the very best games, and they showed off what might be the best one they have worked on in a decade at E3 this year with Zelda. They showed it, and people came- with Zelda being the single most talked about game online during E3. Looks like making actual good games will help you gain some mindshare again, Nintendo!

It's pretty amazing that after the mess Nintendo has been, that Zelda still has the following it does. I'm not going to lie I didn't watch the gameplay during Nintendo's E3. But everyone seems to think it looks great. And I'm glad. I never could get into Zelda, I'm not into puzzle games. But I still know they're great games that are well received. ( exception being Skyward Sword) hit it out of the park Nintendo.

@primorandomguy: If you get the chance, you should definitely watch some of the footage for the new Zelda game! It's actually not a puzzle game this time around, it's more of an open world WRPG like Witcher or Elder Scrolls. If you like those games, you will probably enjoy what Nintendo showed off yesterday, too.

Interesting to note that the first Xbone exclusive is #17 on this list (Forza). That puts 3 Sony exclusives, Zelda, and a bunch of multiplats far ahead of it. Zelda completely wrecked the competition, and that pleases me.

To be fair nintendo fans are rapid, numerous and have only a single nintendo game to hype.

Yes most talked about game, but doesn't tell you whether it's positive or negative.

Plus, its the only thing to talk about when it comes to the Wii U. The PS4/XB1 had a crap ton of more game announcements/game play footage so its more spread out in terms of online chatter.

As it should be, it really blew everything else out of the water. What Nintendo can do when they're at the top of their game.

If Nintendo unveils the NX here in a few weeks with an impressive showcase of games in the launch window to build off the Zelda hype and good vibes they have right now, they could build great hype leading up to NX's launch. Will be interesting to see how they play this.

I enjoyed what I saw. I enjoyed how much we saw. And how it wasn't even story, it was just down time moment to moment gameplay. Definately the best way to present a game of this nature. That and it's Zelda. It's the most respected and critically acclaimed IP of all time.

Im very hyped to play the game, also like that this time, Link has different outfits other than the tunic.
Of course, I also liked everything of what I saw of the gameplay

WiiU may have been a failure in some ways. But I feel that in quality exclusives, it absolutely delivered. At least for a while then :P

It's positive. Most people didn't decide that the game was bad before seeing it or decided that it's an iterative game with nothing new compared to previous entries based on something that isn't even the main focus of the series, such as combat. Luckily, only trolls and haters do stuff like that. Other people either ignore the game completely or give it a chance. :)

It is kind of a shocker when you look at how gamers hype so many mediocre games and ignore so many good/great games.

Nintendo needs to be freed of their limited user-base restriction.... get those games on my computer, I'l by them all full damn price. Show us that artistic and gameplay talent on machines that could truly make your art have "pop"

EDIT - As an ex-battlefield fan ... I honestly dont understand the hype for Battlefield 1 .... the user bases of these games are pretty low unlike in the past. Not quite sure whats going on here...

That's surprising but damn, it really looked great, I might even get a NX for this, especially if it can play Wii U games.

Also not bad, quite a few Sony games in the top too. FF XV is doing well in that department as well, not bad. Hopefully it won't be shit. It's sad that no one seems to be talking about MS games though, they had a good showing this year.

Also that song they played over the trailer was absolutely amazing. If that's any indication of what the entire soundtrack is like, I can't wait.

Yup, it's starting to feel and look like e3 2006 again for Nintendo. All the hype and long lines have returned. Now it's up to them to carry the momentum... but I get the feeling they'll find a way again to screw up.
