If GameSpot cam give mgs4 a perfect 10 with all of its flaws, theres no reason this cant get a 10 based on early reviews so far.

Gta 4 also got a 10 here on GS.

But it's an Oscar caliber story!

What makes you think it can't be a 10? Just curious.

The irony being that (as much as I adore MGSV), neither game really deserved it.

As a matter of fact, for their respective times, I would have felt more comfortable giving 10s to MGS2 and MGS3.

Metal Gear 3 was criminally underrated, in hindsight.

Still haven't played MGSV, so I can't say if it deserved a 10 or not, but MGS4 getting one was just lol.

It was, glad they at least bumped it up a notch for Subsistence. Easily one of the PS2s best games and that's saying a whole fucking lot lol.

MGSV, you know how I feel. Even as a cross gen game, it's the only game I've played this gen that actually felt "next gen". Gameplay and level design absolutely have the makings of a 10/10, but way too much baggage dragging it down. Like it could have been a real 10 by just subtracting half the content. It's weird like that lol.

MGS2 was probably my favorite in the series. I keep forgetting MGSV got a 10. While it's a very fun game I'm not sure I'd give it a 10.

MGS V is still the most puzzling 10/10. Even more so than MGS 4.

MGS4 was my most disappointing MGS game. Definitely not a 10 looking back now the reviews where all hyperbole.

The character models where the best you could have seen at the time but the environmental graphics and level design was pretty poor not to motion the game was rendered at sub HD. Framerate wasn't that great either. But the worst part was the less emphasis on stealth and more Shottery aproach, did they have to include so many guns? Just give me an MK24 pistol and a silencer, that's how I like to play metal gear.

Metal gear Solid 2 is still the best in the series when it comes to pure gameplay and stealth.

Out of all the GS 10/10's, I would say SMG2 deserved it the most. The other ones that were close were OOT and THPS (in terms of the best of its kind).

On ly game that was a 10 that I didn't play was Soul Caliber and the Witcher 3.

I am still baffled that GTAIV and MGS4 got a 10. MGSV getting a 10 somewhat baffles me since it gets repetitive later on.

I can see how MGS4 got a 10 but man MGS5 getting a 10 puzzles me. its 8 at max imo.

@Seabas989: Smash Wii U. But Brawl and Melee too i guess. Never played the original. Ive played Smash for 10+ years. Still addicted.

Brawl is a terrible game compared to the others. Best part of it was the subspace cut scenes

The original is great fun.

Melee is the pinnacle of the series.

Smash Wii U could have been much better if the best of it combined with the best of the 3DS version.

Brawl sucked, Smash on the N64 was alright, and SSBM is one of my favorite games of all time.

There used to be a rule in the old metagame that if a game scored a 9, it by definition was not a flop.

'True' exclusives are so dead at this point at least brand exclusives are considered viable.

That and I also need to point out that if you want to play Breath of the Wild and don't already own a Wii U, your only option is to literally purchase a Switch, since Wii U is now discontinued worldwide, and unavailable everywhere.
