I forgot to add that BOTW will be called the new OOT by multiple review sites.
@charizard1605: I actually had to sell my Wii U during a particularly rough patch so I figured I would be better off just getting a Switch since thats where NIntendo's efforts will be in the future than investing in a Wii U again. I mean I'll probably try and get a Wii U down the line to play some of the stuff I missed out on such as XBCX and TP HD.
The Switch is very expensive. I'll be buying it (near) launch, but I'll most likely sell it after I'm done with the game.
Eh, I don't usually sell hardware. I am thinking about trading in the Wii U at EB Games, but it would only get me $150, which still leaves me with $250 to pay. This is before the $80 for Zelda :/

Well, XCX is apparently going to come to Switch (just rumors), and TPHD is... well, I mean, let's be honest, it's just a remaster of an old Gamecube game haha. Your decision was probably for the best.
@iandizion713: lol, it always comes back to Splatoon
still, Splatoon a 4 it is not.
His reviews are a joke. I swear most these people dont even play the games they talk about. They are so full of bullshit. They just love to talk about games and pretend they play them.
I showed you the shrine :'(
@charizard1605: Since when did you move to Canada? I thought you lived in Texas!
I moved to Toronto in November lol

You moved to the most crappiest city of all Canada?
@Jolt_counter119: We've already agreed to disagree, no point getting into this again.
Fair enough. But we've never gotten into it I don't think. I usually just post once here then check after 5 minutes for no responses then do something else. I just have a tendency to trash WW every time I see it praised anywhere because it deserves to be.
Agreed. Its the worst 3D Zelda imo.
Looks like after trolling the board for the best part of a month with ridiculous threads the mods have finally tidied the board up. Talk about closing the stable door after the horses have bolted.
@DocSanchez: Zelda is just that amazing. Nintendo always gets locked threads. People just cant contain themselves.
The previews for this game sound overwhelmingly positive: http://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild/critic-reviews
@FireEmblem_Man: What's wrong with Toronto? Also, Toronto can't be the worst city in Canada when there is Edmonton.
When it comes to ranking Zelda's, it has to be –
Ocarina of Time > Majora's Mask > Link To The Past > Twilight Princess > Wind Waker > Skyward Sword
Skyward Sword had such potential, I really like the game's charm, but the never-ending tutorial and broken controls really ruined it. I think a remake of the game with regular controls can really save it.
That's also why I'm not particularly surprised by EDGE's 10/10 review of Breath of The Wild. They gave a 10/10 to Skyward Sword too.
@iandizion713: I like Skyward Sword more than most, but its not a 10 by any stretch of the imagination. Anybody who gave it a 10 needs to look at it again
What score do you think Skyward Sword is worth?
My ratings for the console Zelda games would be:
I would give it a 7. I thought the sword fighting was cool, but there are some obvious drawbacks. The art style is probably my favorite of the zelda games, the only thing they should have improved on is the sky itself. In terms of Zelda:
@Eponique: What about it? Who cares what it got here. The dude who reviewed it did the controls wrong. Hes still laughed at today for it.
@NathanDrakeSwag: O yeah, 81 critics and a 93 rating. Get rektd.
Still lower than the GOAT's GTA IV and V. Too bad so sad.
@iandizion713: Doesn't change the fact that Zelda can't compete with Rockstar. Nintendo better step their game up or they will get rekt by RDR 2.
Chie is a pretty poor student, and based on her dialogue, I felt she was of rather poor intelligence too. That makes her the worst girl by default.
So we agree Naoto for best girl?
Well, of the Persona 4 playable cast, she was easily the most compelling character. She also had enough common sense to bring a gun for dungeon crawling. I didnt particulary like her skillset, as she went OoM too fast. But I brought her along anyways, just because of her character. My party members were Kanji, Naoto and Yukiko. Chie was the first to get booted from the party. Galactic punt was the only thing she had going for her.
But despite being the closest thing Persona 4 gets to good characterization. She is still terrible waifu material.
you just had to ruin it at the end didnt you....
I used Chie on my team cause I focused on using physical attacks since the dungeons drained your sp. Made the protag my sp user cause I got a persona with sp regen
@NathanDrakeSwag: They can do whatever they want. As long as i have my Zelda i could careless about their dudebro games.
@aigis: It's not a 93 by any standard. Gorgeous art, incredible OST, great story and characterization, with some good dungeons. But terrible controls, terrible tutorializing, terrible pacing, the complete lack of an overworld, forced linearity, repeated fetchquests, and just repetition of content in general make the game a drag.
It would have been a great animated movie or something. I really love the game's music, art, and story and storytelling- the actual game part is shit.
Skyward Sword is amazing.
Of course a GTA hater would think the worst Zelda game is amazing.

It's not the worst Zelda game, just the worst 3D Zelda game. Spirit Tracks for example is worse.

The proof that critics arent always right
Yeah, bout all 81 of them are wrong.

really just anyone who gave it above an 8, even fans know that SS isnt the best Zelda
Spirit Tracks is way better than Phantom Hourglass, the only thing PH has going for it is Linebeck.
I liked PH far more than ST.
I actually just like PH in general. Fun game.
@charizard1605: @aigis: That damned flute was the only negative I could find in that game (yeah, it was really bad to be fair, hated every instance I had to use it). Byrne was great, the music was amazing, Zelda interactions were amazing, loved the main town. Dungeons were a pain, but unlike the main dungeon in PH, the ST one was truly a challenge instead of a chore.
here's a great review of Skyward Sword from my favorite video game critic, Matthewmatosis
all in all i dont think skyward sword was a terrible game, but it epitomizes a lot of the series' problems while trying too many new things that didn't pay off. personally i enjoyed the game's story but the world design flat-out blows and the handholding is enough to make me want to never replay it.
@charizard1605 ahh. I forgot about those. Thanks for telling me.
you just had to ruin it at the end didnt you....

My MC did everything. Swapped around Personas to adapt to the opponents I was facing, swapping Persona could be done without expending your action. During boss fights, I used him as a buff/debuff bot. Needless to say, Chie was hopelessly outclassed as a physical attacker by Kanji, a spellcaster by Yukiko and in the coolness factor by Naoto.
Ruin at the end? I can justify both sentences.
"But despite being the closest thing Persona 4 gets to good characterization".
The Persona 4 cast are a bunch of children. Not only in the number the writers assigned them (15-16) but also in the way they look, talk and act. Generally speaking, I tend to prefer more mature characters over Persona 4's rather juvenile cast. While the individual issues with the P4 cast went through were relatable to some. None of them were relatable to me, and for most of the part... I just summed them up like this... "First World Problems: The Crew". Combine that with the general juvenility and that is a recipe for making me feel very meh about the cast overall. Especially since the protagonist was a literal Mary Sue.
"She is still terrible waifu material."
Naoto makes for excellent 'bro' material. Bros do not make good waifus.
@iandizion713: Doesn't change the fact that Zelda can't compete with Rockstar. Nintendo better step their game up or they will get rekt by RDR 2.
OoT disagrees

naw PH over ST, the flute was complete bs
I literally stopped playing Spirit Tracks because my mic wasn't registering my actions accurately. Awful. Come to think of it, Spirit Tracks is the only Zelda game that's come out since Ocarina that I haven't beaten.
