Poor lems. TLOU has won GOTY awards from many different sources and is one of the best games of all time. What do you expect from a company like Sony, always making GOTY exclusives for several years.

I wouldn't say it's a huge let down, and I'm sure it deserves its GOTY awards (I haven't played it). But the video has a point in general. AI is falling behind, and I wish more time and money was spent towards it than production values.

I guess all those GOTY's and top 5 game of all time make some people salty.

I, among with a lot of other gamers and critics would disagree. I thought The Last of Us was tremendous, personally.

Microsoft fans need to understand that Uncharted 2 and TLOU beats any exclusive on their console and to stop trying to look for reasons to bad mouth it because you won't find many haters here.

a really interesting and telling video. the game is far and away from what was shown at the E3's...cow's got KILLZONED again it seems. this time with the AI. i mean, i enjoyed the walkthrough i watched of the game. but that was mainly from the story and the cinematic experiences...not really from the gameplay.

seeing how different the game plays from what was shown and explained at E3...what they said about the AI in comparison too what they released...yea, they watered down it, big time.

That certainly accounts for why it won the majority of the Game of the Year awards. Right?

That is not a butthurt video, it is 100% true. The E3 demo was a huge false advertisement though the game it self isn't far off.

It was a brand new IP with no history to live up to and no reputation. It won GOTY in so many places and was undeniably a well crafted memorable game.

Stupid post. How on earth can such a game be a letdown? Its like a 17 year old making his debut in the world cup final and scoring a hat trick, and then you moaning that he missed a fourth goal.

I didn't even love the game and I can see that.

But why didn't the game live up to what they SHOWED//TOLD/PROMISED us? It's not like they couldn't do it, they already did most of the animation moves in Uncharted 3. Why remove it? While Uncharted 3 overdid animations, The Last Of Us felt lacking. I don't accept false advertising.

@happyduds77: The problem is, you've got your individual concerns (didn't particularly see the moves you were talking about) but then have to venture into hyperbole to express them. Biggest letdown of the whole year? It was many people's fave game. How on earth does that square? It may have it's issues (no game is perfect) but letdown is a game hyped for a while which fell completely flat. Beyond Two Souls. Duke Nukem.

It was a great game... a top 5 this year. It has flaws, but its a great game... Im actually thinking, after playing Brothers ( really wasn't expecting to be effected like that ) that I may have to bump TLOU from the 3 spot on my top 3 of 2013 and put in brothers instead... So happy to have so much awesome to pllay.

its painfully obvious now that not many people in this thread actually watched the video and are just commenting off emotion....

I do wish they could had made the girl stay behind you or something, it was embarrassingly bad when she would walk around and hit and run into zombies or other humans out to kill you, and they wouldnt even take any notice. For me a GOTY game should never have this bad a fault. I was more emotionally attached to A tale of Two Brothers than TLOU because I constantly saw a dumb little girl doing stupid things and not getting eaten or killed because of bad AI.

Well. If theres one thing you should take away from this thread, its that what you see in E3 stays in E3, don't expect that shit in the final product, I'm looking at you Tinfall, you can't bait me.

Wow it that video is true, I am seriously reconsidering buying this game. The AI is complete shit in this game based off that video.
