I think about trying video games sometimes, but I just don't know where to start.

If this industry focused more on making new things while also discovering how to do some decent budget managing.Oh and more focus on gameplay and interactivity, less of a focus on being a poor man's movie. Japanese games making more of a comeback would also help.

You'd miss out on a ton of marketing. Or not. If Sony/MS create their own PC online platform instead, then that might be better than having these pricy sub-PC's, yes.
You'd still miss out on a lot of people who cannot pay upfront because they have not heard of saving money before buying something.
So we'd need to see better payment plans for gaming PC's. Then I think the advantages for the industry would outweigh the negatives.

If console multiplayer was all multi platform with other consoles.

Nope, consoles bring in a lot of people to the industry. That's because they are an easy and secure way to gain access to AAA-gaming. Without them the industry would just be smaller.

You know what I do when I'm having a bad day? I go for a 45-min jog. I feel fantastic afterwards. I love the feeling, all those endorphins swimming in my brain....yummy.

If there was another dedicated game company making excellent games on their own hardware. I can understand why people don't buy Nintendo from the perspective that it simply lacks crucial genres to some--it doesn't even get a core sports lineup. Some people actually buy consoles specifically for that.

Back in the day Sega wasn't only a great game developer, but their console offered a different experience to that of Nintendo. And speaking of sports games, sega was putting out the best in the business. Tennis, Football, Baseball, Basketball. NFL2k became so popular that EAs way of competing was buying out the NFL license.

This is where Nintendo needs to invest money. Attempt to one up genres that are selling consoles. They don't even need 3rd part, simply hire talent and develop from within.

.............also all the negativity, the youtube community is pretty poor for the most part, and it seems gamers just don't get along.

So I tried this at home. I wanted to see how I'd feel after taking my PS4, X1, and all of the games I have for each console out to the curb and set them ablaze.

It didn't help.

Don't be silly, system wars is not real life. In the real world we need competition to ensure a healthy industry.

They should of course release all their games on PC though ;) (well the small handful of good exclusives that have come out this gen anyway)

Tell that to developer who flooded from PC to consoles because of the rampant piracy.

This is why nobody likes PC gamers. TC is exhibit A of that bullshit.
