RE4 for sure. I had no expectations for that game until I heard they are changing it to a TPS. I literally played the whole game with my jaw on the floor. It was THAT awesome.

This gen probably Gears of War. I have never had more fun with an online multiplayer game before in my life.

This gen when Team Fortress 2 came I knew that it was going to deliver in the MP aspect. But when I played it I found it to be much better then I thought possible.

Last gen is San Andreas for sure.

Too many great games last gen can't pick one.

That was an unexpected one for me, still one of the top. As for the one I knew was gonna be great which delivered and more, it's MGS4 and recently it's FO3.

Last gen: Paper Mario TTYD (Hell yeah!), God of War, RE4, Metroid Prime.

This gen: Gears of War, Dead Space, Fallout 3, MGS4, Halo 3. CoD4, Super Mario Galaxy, SSBB.

This gen- MGS4, better than I expected. Last gen, I'll also say San Andreas.Floppy_Jim

at the first two chapters, i expected the game to give in to a little more hours of actually playing than watching the cutscenes, but as i progressed through the game, i realized i had finished the game and thought it really didnt need much more, awesome ending to an awesome franchise.

last-gen NG, everything about that game is perfection

this gen Gears, Halo3 (I for one love the sp and mp in that game)

MGS4 is easily that for me. It was an amazing conclusion to an amazing story. It had an awsome single player mode and to top it off had a very fun online mode as well.

It rare to have a game that has a good single player and online player mode.

Any Total War game.

They're amazing. Absolutely mindblowing.

Last gen: Half Life 2 gave me so much more than what I expected.

This gen: Can't think of one.

This Gen: SMG is one of the best games I have ever played and SSBB has more extras than I would have ever imagined

MGS4 was or is also a very good game this gen that will stand out for years to come.

Dead Space, Fallout 3, Crackdown, forza 2, Burnout Revenge, Fable 2, Rainbow Six Vegas, GRAW, Uncharted, Tomb Raider Legend, Mass Effect, GTA IV, Saints Row 2, Halo 3, GEOW and Wii Sports...And I'm sure I forgot some others. And there are some awesome DLC games on PSN and PSN.

I can't believe people think that there were no good games this gen. If you believe that you should just quit. NOW.

BTW, I noticed the Tomb Raider sig and Avatar..Have you tried the demo to Underworld yet? It's amazing. It looks like this will be the best Tomb Raider so far. I was never really a huge fan of the series, but I was impressed by the demo.

Last gen: Metroid Prime, God of War, SoTC, RE4

This Gen: BioShock. I wasnt expecting much of it and I really liked it. The same goes for De Blob. I wasnt excited for it AT ALL and it more than surpassed my expectations

Probably COD4 for me. I've always loved COD games, but this one was soo much better than I thought it was going to be.

I liked it enough to play through on veteran.

not really understanding the love for MGS4. I have a real love hate thing for it. As much as it was awesome, and I think it probably deserved its 10 score - there is still something that really annoyed me about its total lack of MGS gameplay. Its started off well and went downhill.....however the "action" gameplay that it did offer in its place was really good.

The thought the story line was a really dull idea, but the delivery was really good and had soem epic moments.

I thought that the epic production managed to over shaddow what was actually quite a let down.

Last gen? Halo 2 without doubt. I bought it for the single player (lol) not knowing what to expect with the multiplayer. Had never tried online gaming before, so i got Xbox Live and ended up loving it, played it non-stop for over 2 years.

This gen Id go with COD4. If it hadnt been for the beta, i dont think i wouldve bought this game, but its multiplayer was one of the biggest surprises ever, i still play it all the time.

last gen for me was halo ce, 5.1 dd 480p an awesome single player and great multiplayer.

this gen for me has to be cod4, I've baught halo3 mgs4 and when I was done I kept going back for some cod4, I love that game,

Obllivion, I easily put around 300 hours into that game.

And suprisingly, warhawk, I play that nearly everyday, sometimes in short bursts and other times for quite a while. Never gets boring.

Just off the top of my head:

Team Fortress 2 (PC): Enjoyed the original Team Fortress and played it heavily for a long time. 2nd one, while it took a long time to come, is phenomenal in every aspect.

Fallout 3: As an old Fallout player (having played and beaten both the first and second one numerous times) i was worried about this game. Thankfully it is an incredible game in every aspect. Not only is it better than any of Bethesda's previous titles but it went wayyyy above my expectations for the game. I loved Morrowind and the past Elder Scrolls but Fallout 3 tops them IMO. Such an incredible game.

Last Gen for me is either RE4 or GTA: San Andreas, I can't really choose....

This Gen?.....Thats a tough one, MGS4 had such a great story...Fallout3.....is just amazing, Uncharted had great grahics, COD4 had great gameplay and online, GTAIV had great graphics, story multiplayer and gamplay and Forza2/GT5: P both allowed me to be a race driver

I think Im going to have to go with either GTAIV, Fallout 3 or Forza 2 (I cannot decide!) but there have been so many awesome games this gen, its unbelievable
