Only on system wars. Flop is simply a game that didn't meet the hype set forth by SW based on GS score. And not meeting hype does not make it a bad game. It's really not a difficult concept

but the stupidity of lemmings is mind blowing, we know that score that Tom gave. But we also konw that it is highly likely to be better than any other game released on any plantform this year and perhaps the generation.

With that said lemming acting all happy because Tom put down an "8.0" regardless of the fact that nothing they have is even close to the qulaity or critical acclaim of this game shows how patheric how far away from being gamers they really are.

I never thought TLOU would be a game of the year contender with its score (although its one reviewer) but the TLOU did beat out GTA5 in the PS3 game of the year

The game is probably going to be nominated, but it won't win. The real battle will be between that handheld zelda game, Bioshock Infinite,GTAV,Super Mario 3D world and any other game they nominate.

The funny thing is, BTS has a better chance at overall GOTY than TLOU. The only less-than-9 game that really ever took a GOTY award was Everquest, and that was not only when they have the 100 point system, but two GOTY's in a single year (one console and one PC).

Ex-ante I might have agreed with this, but it seems unlikely that BTS has a better chance when it wasn't even nominated for Best PS3 game.

The only game that had a chance to beat it was GTA5 (which was amazing). The best version of GTA5 is on PS3. TLOU beat it for GOTY. TLOU GOTY.

If GTA5 online wasn't gimped it would have a chance but honestly it's TLOU

Most hyped games don't win goty if they fail,this is the first time i see an 8 game beating other 9 scored games,including GTA5,most played no chance in hell GTA5 came after the last of US and more people have play GTA5 than TLOU on PS3 this is a fact baked by sales.

It would be an even bigger own for gamespot is GTA5 beat TLOU for GOTY,since that game is only on PS3 and 360 and already on PS3 it loss against TLOU,oh an GTA5 loss on 360 vs AC4 so basically GTA5 is out of the question for GOTY over all.

Hell AC4 was also beat by TLOU on PS3,so i don't see any of the 2 beating TLOU,Mario on wii u has a chance so does Zelda on 3ds.

It was Journey,it actually beat Halo 4 and several games for GOTY,that game i don't think last more than 2 hours,and is a PSN game.

A score is representative of the quality of the game period,how many 5 games here have you see won GOTY because the score doesn't mean its bad..?

Yeah TLOU is basically the first 8 game to win PS3 GOTY here i think,and if it wins over all it would be the first,last year it was Journey which does has 9 here.

That 8 game is dropping 9 games like flies,not only it beat GTA5 and AC4,it also beat Ni NO Kuni which has 9 and Poppeteer which has 9 as well,oh and Beyond two souls also has 9.

GTA5 already loss on PS3 and xbox 360,on PS3 vs TLOU and on 360 vs AC4 which also loss to TLOU on PS3...

So if any game Mario,Zelda or TLOU are the 3 i see with real possibilities.

And it should not even be nominated for GOTY,why because it has an 8 period score here are a measure for quality,is the reason why Ryse doesn't have a 10,or Killzone SF.

So this 8 game beat all those 9 games,why in hell you even assign a score in the first place if you will put that 8 game to beat other higher rated games,the score MC Shea game was a reflection of the quality of the game,regardless of been call a flop,that is not the criteria MC shea use to review games,he actually score the game because for him quality wise the game was that an 8 and scores should reflect quality period.

TLOU should not even be nominated if not like the PS3 had a drought of quality games,this site say all the contrary it has several 9 games.

A flop is a flop, it is what it is. However, regarding GOTY choices, I believe that the game chosen is a group consensus. So sure Mcshea gave it an 8, maybe Carolyn would have given it a 10 and Kevin a 4. I don't know. Point is, reviews are done by one person but it seems like GOTY choices (and maybe I'm wrong) are group based.
