The DS4 analogs are horrible compared to the X1 Controller.

I'm not too familiar with modding controllers. but playing a friends Xbox one last night... it was painfully obvious how much better the analog sticks are in not only their accelerated sensitivity... but the grip as well.... was absolutely impossible to slip on that controller... perfect for FPS. even though it was only cod we were playing it felt 100x better than my experience with the DS4 and Destiny.

The only downside to the DS4 vs the X1 Controller though... but a very big one for most games.

Anyone know of any recommended alternatives? the material/grip is horrible.

No I know last gen you could buy aftermarket PS3 controllers that had thumsticks like the 360 controller. Sooner or later there will be a 3rd party DS4 like the xbox controller.

I've always done well with DS controller sticks. I dont think any 3rd party will change them that much.

yup they are awful. (DS4). Ive had the rubber come off of them already. Not a single problem with my x1 controllers, besides having to buy rechargeable batteries.

Nothing compares to the X1 controller...best controller ever.

I use a ds4 for PC gaming. I like it on the whole, but still prefer the analog placement of xbox controllers.

I remember playing Uncharted for the first time on PS3, that first section on a boat...those sticks were horrible, especially when you wanted to do circular movements with both at the same time and shooting with R1 was unbelievably bad.

If I hadn't gotten an Xbox 360 controller as a gift (for my PC), I'd have gone with the Xbox One controller without a second thought. That controller is so incredibly good.

Never had an issue with a controller... at least nothing major... I've always been able to adjust to them.

I thought the complaint about the 360 and even more so with the One controller was the dead zone. Is this not more important? I've never used any Xbox controller to test myself.

Stick placement is personal preference or what you are used to, although I guess the grips are common complaint

I used to use the 360 controller on my PC until MS updated the drivers for the X1 controller and yeah it feels so much better.

Nothing horrible about the ds4, well the battery is, but nothing else.

The one controller feels nice too, the bumpers are horrible, & you can't place a gummy on that.

If you have to think about modding something right after you buy it. There might be a problem.

The rubber shreds. The placement of the analogs suck. I hate the archaic design and layout.

At least you can buy aftermarket analog cap replacements on Amazon.

EDIT: I hated the analog placement before the Xbox brand was even a thing.

Neither controller is perfect.

I feel the PS4 controller feels better in the hands and the face buttons and triggers are far better then the Xbox one. The trigger buttons are to close on the X1 for me. But there is no denying the rubber on the DS4 joysticks sucks. I wish they would just use a different kind for the controller.

From what I've played of the DS4, I thought it was fine, although I have pretty limited experience with it so far.

They work great. Use it for more than 2 mins. You might know this.

I have zero problems with them. They are excellent.

agree with you when it comes to general build quality (though the sticks on mine seem to not have any signs of wear yet), but that's it. DS4 sticks are tighter than the Xbone's loose sticks and the Xbone sticks have really bad deadzones

Both controllers are fine with me. Don't have any problems or any preference of one over the other.

The 360's pad was and always will be king of controllers.

Idk, It's better to replace certain parts of a controller rather than thinking about throwing out a whole console.

How are your hands slipping on the DS4? The sticks curve inwards so I don't see how you manage that.

I am finding my XB1 controller is now drifting to the left and up (left thumbstick)

I like the feel of the controller though. I have the extended warranty, but MS wants me to send the old controller in before sending me a new one.. I only have one controller so I would be without one (or I have to buy a new one)

u must have small hand or something because x1 controller sticks are very small, no idea why ms changed the size and the friction of the sticks, its a step back from x360 controller.

Not only the analog sticks, but the triggers and build quality are MUCH better on xb1 pad. The ds4 is fantastically designed but poorly put together. It is a frail and delicate piece of crap. I'm on my 3rd and final ds4 with the previous 2 braking at the right trigger. For reference my son plays xb1 10-15 hours a week and i play ps4 about 4 hours a week yet his gamepad looks newer with less wear than even my newest ds4. You can buy replacements for the triggers for $6 on ebay but they take more than a week to get and shipping can add another $3-5.

Coincidentally, I held an X1 controller yesterday for the first time and hated it. For me it was the triggers and bumpers. It didn't feel right in the hands. That said, I never liked those buttons on the 360 controller either.
