Serious question: how does one make a story game based on Minecraft? Isn't the point of the game to make your own adventure and stuff? Having a pre-determined story kinda takes away the charm of the game, does it not?

TellTale made some of the most excellent storytelling games so I won't knock it until I get more info about what the game is. If you told me there was going to be a Lego game or a Lego movie awhile back, I would scratch my head too but after a couple of decent Lego games and a movie, my views on these things changed. Let them do their job, TellTale are good doing it. They chose TellTale for a reason and I'm guessing this will be Microsoft exclusive.

I would normally say WTF? There is no story in Minecraft !!! However, I just found out the other day that there are actually Minecraft books out there. People have written books set in Minecraft. So, why not I guess. If anyone can make a narrative game about Minecraft, it would be Tell Tale. I'll probably check it out at some point. After I am done with Borderlands, and Game of Thrones.

Telltale should change their games a bit and should look at games like Broken Sword, Unwritten Tales, their older games and should introduce a bit challenging puzzles. Their every game is becoming exactly the same where you click to trigger new cutscene.

Such kind of formula makes the game boring after 2 hours. That's why I couldn't get into The Wolf among us because unlike The Walking Dead, I played all episodes at once and only then I realized that why they release the game episodically instead of whole package. Because there is not enough in the gameplay department to keep it engaging for a longer time, even if the story telling is really good.

Seeing as MS own it now -- and given how much they paid -- I would brace yourself because it won't end here; I predict Minecart Racing, Minecraft party and possibly even an XB1 version of GunCraft.
