So tomorrow, I'm going to my first ever convention, and not some mini-con like I did in Jr. High for Pokemon's 10th Anniversary, a full on geek con.
Jealous. A friend is trying to get me to go to PAX with him this next summer. Not sure if I'll be able to but that will be my first geek con!
Heh, I never thought I was going to go to one of those, but members in my family convinced me especially so for the con here in my homestate (Utah) with some of the stars they mentioned being there (plus some I found out on my own).
-Carrie Fisher
-Christopher Lloyd
-Felicia Day
-Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter)
-Matt Smith
-Karen Gillian
-Morena Baccarin (Inara Serra in Firefly)
Cons are amaaaaaaaazing (at least the major ones), I went to my first one back in 2012 (Denver Comic Con) and I went to Starfest last year in Denver. I wanna take the GF this year to Denver Comic Con cause I missed out last years with Stephen Amell (Arrow/Green Arrow).
Cons are like a nerd paradise and once you go to one you have to go to more of them XD
What if ND decides to make Last Of Us open world like Dying Light? I was just imagining how it would be like during night time and perhaps third person parkour.
Tonally, that just doesn't work. Monkey antics may work for Dying Light, but The Last of Us is more about fragility than being empowered.
Open world might work on the other hand.

Bow users were shit in Awakening.
Hopefully we get Pirates back in If
We got East vs West, may as well have Pirates (and Ninjas), I suppose. But seriously now, yes please. Might be just a stepping stone for Berserkers, might be more useful for enemies than players otherwise, but yes please.
Jesus christ Nvidia is in so much shit right now, lol.
And they're still better than AMD
Well yeah, AMD is ebola.
I really don't know why people are getting worked up about that NVIDIA 0.5 scandal, I think the majority of people are literally fracking stupid.
You don't see them up in arms when they buy a PS4, Wii-U or ANY console that lets say for example has a 40gb hdd, that doesn't mean you have 40gb, since they put the OS onto that HDD which chews up a few GB from that 40gb HDD so you're more likely to actually buy a 35gb console.

still, it is a problem and could be argued as false advertising. They cut some corners to give people "4gb," and it's showing. As much as I like Nvidia for my gpu's I'm glad they are getting called out on this.
@Ballroompirate: I guess that means PC gamers are enlightened consumers who are not afraid to stand up if their product is falsely advertised, and console gamers are dumb zombies that just eat whatever shit these companies feed them.
Jokes aside, it's common knowledge that OS take up space, you can't really do anything about it.
@Technoweirdo: Well, there is a reason why it's considered the best show airing on TV right now. It's methodical, but it doesn't hesitate to explode when it needs to, while the tension they build until the explosion is so well developed. Basically, think Mad Men but with everyone having guns.

Not really the same situation
From Anandtech (and Nvidia)
"Most important for the conversation at hand, we were told that both [970 and 980] possessed identical memory subsystems: 4GB of 7GHz GDDR5 on a 256-bit bus, split amongst 4 ROP/memory controller partitions. All 4 partitions would be fully active on the GTX 970, with 2MB of L2 cache and 64 ROPs available.
This, as it turns out, was incorrect.
As part of our discussion with NVIDIA, they laid out the fact that the original published specifications for the GTX 970 were wrong, and as a result the “unusual” behavior that users had been seeing from the GTX 970 was in fact expected behavior for a card configured as the GTX 970 was."
"All of the behavior from the GTX 970 we’ve seen in light of this correction now makes sense, and it is immediately clear that this is not a hardware or software bug in GTX 970, but rather the planned/intentional behavior of the product."
"The error, as NVIDIA explains it, is that in creating the GTX 970 reviewer’s guide, the technical marketing team was unaware of Maxwell’s aforementioned and new “partial disable” capabilities when they filled out the GTX 970 specification table."
"Unfortunately what this means is that accessing the weaker 512MB segment blocks access to the stronger 3.5GB segment if both memory operations are identical; or put another way, using the 512MB segment can harm the performance of the 3.5GB segment"
The argument now would be how the split segments effect real world performance now and in the future.
@funsohng: Considering the amount of ******* and complaining gamers (notice I didn't say PC gamers, I said gamers in general) have done the past few years, yes they they are entitled little brats, there's no way of spinning it cause the amount of complaining has gotten out of hand which majority of the time it's just pointless QQ.
Point #2: Having extra skills is nice, but they aren't worth a stat drop and subsequent grinding. Just make the enemies tougher to compensate.
The idea is to have as little reclassing as possible ;) But perhaps a total stat reset would be too harsh. Instead the stats could go like this (Class Mimimum+Current Stats)/2. The exception to this is of course promotions. This should mean that they will be weak after a class reset, but will have powerful skills from their other class(es) and you will be able to level them up fast.

Wow that might be the most awful comparison I have ever seen LOL
Nvidia lied to consumers. Can't believe there's people defending that type of behaviour.
Law & Order will release an episode called "Intimidation Game" based on gamegate on Feb 11.
The story is about a female game dev that is threatened to not release a video game by the game community but she refuses to back down, thus agent Ice-T will be assigned to protect her.
lol
Polygon of-course already salivating over the prospect that this will damage those who they hate:
A few hours before I take off to con, and to start let me say... I would love FOTC to do another US Tour (and in the Utah area). The one I went to in 2009 was the best concert I've ever been (although I've only seen BNL long before then and soon, I'm seeing FOB with my sister)

It's pretty funny that I've seen more violent behavior from those outside of the gg circle than within it, that LAO episode just seems like it's creatively bankrupt.
oh dear at the above hard disk analogy, oh dear oh dear oh dear.
finished starcraft 2's brown wings of liberty campaign. i couldn't believe it when the story drew me into the game, i normally have no time for story whatsoever. i was genuinely intrigued to see what happens at the end, and the end was like - whoa. also, the game can render at 144 fps which is pretty schweet. i took a really long time to get around to playing SC2, especially considering how much i loved starcraft one. starcraft 2, it was a great gaming experience, i think i'll be playing through it again (or heart of the swarm) fairly shortly. strong recommendation from me.
@ConanTheStoner: Hype is already at max, no more hype is needed :P So gladed I waited this long to play GZ. Such a fantastic demo! And to think that what you can do there will be just a small part of what you can actually do in the final game! :O
Man, I wish I would have just waited it out to play GZ. I ended up playing that shit into the ground. At one point I knocked out and extracted every single soldier from the base, talk about overkill lol.
But yeah you're right. As far as the play mechanics go I might have burned myself out on GZ, but TPP is going to offer so much more that it should be a non-issue.
A new trailer at this game show would be nice, but all I need now is a solid release date.
From Software is going to be a Soul's factory from now on, since it's the only good thing they've done since the King's Field series. Seems like that type of game is all they're good at.

Otogi happened between King's Field and the Souls games, and Otogi was quite good. In fact significantly more successful than King's Field too.
