I think we'll at least wait for Windows Phone 8 and Windows RT to launch before we start on that one.

I am biased against Apple so I choose Android.

#16 Posted by ChubbyGuy40 (26118 posts) -

Android all day, every day. Lol at Apple and all their overpriced crap.

#17 Posted by illmatic87 (15185 posts) -
I own both. Cant decide. Android has better phones, connectivity with non Apple devices and some nice freeware iOS has a more expansive library of Apps, reliable apps and it just feels abit more slick to use. Surprised by the poll, I dont find that much of a glaring 'winner' with either.
#18 Posted by psx_warrior (1512 posts) -
Android because of customization. Apple because of games, but since I have a Vita and 3ds, my Android phone serves me fine.
#20 Posted by Slow_Show (2153 posts) -

Own both, pretty much a toss up. Android is slicker and much better designed when Google puts their minds to it, but they leave too many rough edges and the second-rate app support is a drag (dat fragmentation). iOS is more consistent and has a much stronger app library, but the Apple "our way or the highway" design philosophy and some shockingly dated design (dat skeumorphism) can be pretty damn off-putting. Would say:

Phones: Android = WP7 (which is all kinds of rad, although the app support is even worse than Android) > iOS

Tablets: iOS > Android

Android is an inconsistent, incoherent mess, iOS wins automatically.

Android because I can customize the OS/ROM.

#25 Posted by princeofshapeir (13840 posts) -
Android, absolutely no contest. Jellybean = god-tier. I've flashed stock JB on my Galaxy Nexus and Google Now is simply a revolution. Google is the one innovating in the cellphone market these days, not Apple.

Android. No contest.

Android is an open OS supported by a wide range of platforms, and JB is the most responsive, user-friendly OS for mobile devices yet. Apple has nothing left... though they had little to begin with.

I think we'll at least wait for Windows Phone 8 and Windows RT to launch before we start on that one.

Indeed, I love the WP7 interface, but the overall system is severely lacking, Win 8 looks to change that. Android by a landslide.... better in pretty much any conceivable way.

I don't have an appetite for a great smorgasbord of programs.

Web browser; video player; music player; comic/pdf reader; RSS client; torrent client;

And then there's the occasional game or two. But quality is the key. As far as I'm concerned, Android just needs a handful of truely solid programs in addition to solid hardware.

Maybe many others ITT feel the same as I do.

Then, I also like the customisation. Perhaps there's a bit of that too.

#30 Posted by OB-47 (10908 posts) -

I love the Windows 7 interface the most, but the system overall feels lacking.

Anyways, I'll always choose the slick UI and overall smoothness of Apple over Android.

Try Jellybean, quit Crapple forever.

I pick Android any day. Sure apple has a bigger game selection, but Android has way more freedom with their phones. Besides, I don't need the "best" game library (apple), I just a "good enough" game library. Anybody buying a phone base solely on the gaming library is doing it wrong. You buy a phone for everything else it does. The games are just a bonus.

Android :)

More free games, top of the line hardware bigger screens, more customizable, use PS360 controllers...You name it Android is king.

Exactly, especially with the compatibility between WP8 and WRT, I think there is some potential. Not to mention the fact almost all of the Android hardware makers will be manufactoring a Windows Phone or Windows RT device. So when the time comes I'll make a new thread to accommodate for Windows.

Except a superiour phone and OS. Maybe try iOS for a while first? I was sceptical at first as well.
#37 Posted by Joedgabe (5111 posts) -

Depends on the Android model.... but the fact that you can choose different phone models makes Android > iPhone

I phones programing is annoying.. transferring files is a pain and then the menu cannot be browsed as fast as some Android phones like mines. Having to use Itunes for transfers is stupid...... my phone works like a hard drive.. you plug it in put w/e you need in it and you're ready to go... for the iphone it ask you to sync or what not.... the hell...

#38 Posted by Mozelleple112 (6637 posts) -

Android! I've currently got a HORRIBLY outdated iphone 3gs but now I've finally ordered a SAMSUNG GALAXY SIII flagship so I can't wait to get into Android.

Iphone.. a superior phone? lol even the Samsung Galaxy S2 out performed the iphone 4S.. I can bet you anything the upcoming iphone 5 won't even be as good as the Galaxy S3.

Phones sucks for gaming emulators are too unstable and no buttons

#41 Posted by hexashadow13 (5157 posts) -
Overall they are both pretty bad at gaming, but Android is still preferred. I have an Optimus V and my dad has a 4S and I prefer the V. I'm also getting the Nexus 7 soon.
#42 Posted by santoron (7702 posts) -
For gaming? There's no argument. iOS is the superior platform. And since this is a gaming forum...
#43 Posted by kraken2109 (13010 posts) -

IOS is prison.

Apple's idea of customisation is changing your background.

Did you get your SIII replaced? I recall you talking about long loads / slow performance and static introduced when using headphones. All signs of a defective device.

Android is better for phones iOS is better for tablets
#48 Posted by BPoole96 (22785 posts) -

I have an IPhone but wouldn't really say I'm a fan of it. I was able to get a good deal on an iPhone 4. I don't mess around with apps or games at all

#49 Posted by parkurtommo (26606 posts) -

They both suck.

#50 Posted by Mr_BillGates (3186 posts) -

Android is like the PC. Ugly, unorganize, cheap building quality, and design that imitatesthe real thing: Mac and iPhone. Let me know how the poor man's iPhone (samsung) is working out with its Siri-copycat.
