Sunset Overdrive, the death blow for ps+ free offerings?

For those that didn't know, this game is for free on the xboxone from april 16th till may 15th.

It's another big game you get for free with your gold subscription. Microsoft has been quite generous with their gold games, something you cannot say from playstation, which only offers low priced games for the ps+ subscribers, allthough this month sony was a bit more generous with the game zombi u, the wii u launch game from 2012.

A quick comparison for 2016

Xbox one

Sunset overdrive, lords of the fallen, the wolf among us , sherlong holmes, styx, hand of fate, zhero, killer instinct season 1,

ps 4

Zombi u, dead star, shutsimi, galak z, broforce, hardware rivals, grim fandago.

It wasn't much better last year for the ps4, let's also not forget that all xbox 360 games with gold are backwards compatible for the xboxone. This month. Saints row IV and dead space.

Yeah MS's offerings are definitely better in this area. But I'm sure the usual PS fan girls on here will try to BS around it.

Why haven't Xbone owners played it already? It's been out since 2014. Gets brought up in every list war. If you cared about it you would have bought it by now.

So, that means that the games are bad because they're low priced? Dead Star, Broforce and Grim Fandango are pretty good games.

Dude bought a PS4, thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread for a short period of time, figured out it's nothing special in comparison to the competition and now the flip flop continues.

Let's not pretend Sunset Overdrive is brilliant. Although I do wonder why Sony doesn't put their first party offerings forward on Ps+.

I mean, those aren't the only free games people will have with their PS+.

Xbox definitely killed PS in this section but its not like Xbox can afford to just stick with mediocre game offerings with the sales they have.

As long as you need PS+ for multiplayer it isn't going any where. I'll be be honest I rarely waste bandwidth on PS4 Plus games. I do add them to my cart on the web store so I can access them if ever wanted to.

On thing Sony still has an advantage on Microsoft with is much better digital sales promotions that get even better with your PS Plus discount.

lol. Sunset Overdrive isn't killing anything. Yes, I did get excited because I'm getting the game for free. Definitely a game I wasn't going to play for. But all the hype on the M$ stage a few years back had to have been a joke.

Nah, both services give me awesome games. I'm loving SO soooo much I wonder why nobody gives it more credit. I love the crazy guns, punk theme is fucking anarchy baby. Insomniac always delivers great crazy games. To me they're both worth it.

I would argue that Zombi is better than Sunset Overdrive so this month was quite the poor month for me for xbl... Seriously, i would rate many games better than SO

Indeed the game is great, it has to be your cup of tea though, it's a fast paced game.

That's great news for Xone owners, but while people bitch about what the ps4 offers I'm having a blast playing their free offerings.

The games humor turn me down when I played the free trail like last year. But hey, since this is free, I'll just add it to my collection if I ever think about playing it when I'm done with my backlog of games, if ever lol.

Just throwing this out there, but if you own an xbox one, you probably own Sunset Overdrive. There will be a few people who dont, so by giving it out with GWG, MS is pretty much putting up the image of a really good game that they are giving away, but taking little to no financial hit on it

Its funny theyre giving Sunset Overdrive out for free the same time Ratchet and Clank come out. Microsoft is clever, they know it take sales away from them, now people will be waiting for a price drop even more.

Sunset Overdrive bored me to tears after 2 hours. I kind of regret that I spent around 15 Euro on it. But all in all Games with Gold have been more interesting than PS+ in the last months.
