"Unique things" promised for multiplayer

"Worried that Insomniac's forthcoming open world Sunset Overdrive will be one of those persistent multiplayer dealios? That other players will continually intrude on your fun? Cease that worrying, right this very minute - according to Insomniac's Twitter, the game's campaign mode is single player only.

The Tweets in question are below. The developer has described Sunset Overdrive as a "classic Insomniac game" in that it has oodles and oodles of weapons. You can expect much more on the subject next week, when the first proper preview embargo elapses. Who knows, perhaps we'll have something to share?"

people were worried about it being online only...its not. that's the the news here.

That's ok with me, I prefer SP games, although I wouldn't of minded co-op. Still an easy day 1 purchase for me.

i love this guy.

I hope the MP is like the coop in the Resistance series, which if you ask anyone who played, thought it was great. I'm very much looking forward to more information on this game and a solid release date.

but I thought wee needed online for all single player driven games.

Despite the occasional trickle of news about this game, I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE HELL IT IS! I'd really like some concrete data about this one. It may just be some crazy left-field type of game like Crazy Taxi or Power Stone, but I just don't know what it's all about.

I like insomniac, but from what I've seen I'm not really that excited about this.

I love Insomniac games. This game looks to have a cool art style for a Zombie game. They say there will be tons of weapons and best of all it's an open world game, which is my favorite genre.

Yup and that's good news for me. I'm happy it has a SP campaign. Can't wait to see this game demoed at the E3. Hopefully we'll get some information before it's revealed.

Really hoping this game is great. It'll give me a reason to turn on my Xbox One again (haven't played it much in a while).

Fearful of this game being another Fuse but then again, Insomniac has the director(s) of Resistance 3 working on it so I'm excited!

No big deal. The problem is the game itself. What the hell will it be like? If its chaotic monster exploding game like L4D then having no co-op will be laughable.

Wonder if they can make a decent game w/out Sony.

there's only 60 characters allowed in the title line...so i focused on the main subject of the thread, that Sunset Overdrive DOES have a single player campaign, as well as online multiplayer. that its not an online multiplayer game only. i just threw the multiplayer quote in as well because its just more news that was in the article...but it wasnt the article's/thread's main subject. n how didnt you know this game has multiplayer as well lol?

is it really too much to ask users to read the title and open the link as well lol? threads OPs are usually just a taste of what the actual article is saying. you'd save both of us some time by reading the link fully as well instead of just the title and my small excerpt in the OP then asking TCs to explain minor details you really only had to click a link to get the answer too.

Only in today's gaming world would this be unusual and considered by many to be "unacceptable".

The more I hear about this game the more I am intrigued.

Pretty sure I read it about some city that has been quarantined after all the people drank some weird soda and started mutating. Yes it is a very silly plot, but I think that is on purpose.

@SolidGame_basic: Especially considering they didn't even finish the Resistance series. They left us with Hale turning into one of the hybrid things(it's been a long time since I played). Then they pulled that stupid prequel bull on us and now it seems like they will never finish the story.

They did finish Resistance, and there was no prequel or anything.

Fine with me. I find myself wanting to play multi-player games less and less now. A nice split screen co-op would have been nice though.
