If someone had told you two years ago that the successor to the Xbox 360 would fail to hit 1080p resolution on most of its games, you'd have called them a filthy liar.
But, I'm glad you're satisfied with lower resolutions. It gives you something to look forward to next generation.

If Microsoft hadn't gimped the Xbox One with an ESRAM bottleneck and a weak GPU, and the Playstation 4 did, would you have called 1080p "overblown"? Be honest with yourself.
I care about the games, and the multimedia functions, not the resolution. Especially since there really isn't a big visual difference between 720p and 1080p. It's not like the XB1 version is using 1/2 the polygons or textures.
The only reason I care at all is because I am sick and tired of people making the resolution out to be something bigger than it is.
The Xbox 360 had 720p games. When I look at a $500 console that came out eight years after the the Xbox 360, I personally expect a higher resolution than a compromised 792p, or 900p.
And again, I think if the situation was reversed, it would be a big deal to you.
Still fighting over resolution and treating 1080p like it is 2006 , lol . Just play the damn game . If you care about graphics , go with PC .
Brag all you want but it won't be long until PS4 itself will be running games at sub HD when High End games like Witcher 3 will start to role out . Battlefield is already running at 900p .
This gen won't define 1080p for consoles and you know it . If this was a PS4 exclusive game then we would've seen over 100 threads about it being "Graphics King" by now . I still remember how MGS 4 was made graphics king by some playstation owners , even though it is not even 720p and had terrible facial animations , textures etc . Yet , they were saying "Crysis ain't got shit on this" . Sorry but that's insecurity and no I never owned Xbox console ever .

Not sure about the WiiU. Most PS4 games run at 1080p60 and the rest runs at 1080p30. The black sheep of the library is BF4, the only game that doesn't run at native 1080p, but still an impressive achievement!

lemmings should understand fps is a dev decision and not a limitation, 1080p however all devs want to run their games @1080p only it's not possible on Xbone sadly, only if they turn off the bells and whistles and make a game look like a x360 game!

So it does have 10-12 games that are 1080P. It doesn't matter what type of games they are. It can still make games at 1080P and will do it even better after DX12 is added to the system. Trials can definitely be run at 1080p on XB1. That's a developer who's not familiar with system. Also, it's 900P, not 800p and it actually looks better then the PS4 version. Go figure. Nuff said.
@blackace: Its not as simple as the developer being familiar with the system. When they are developing a multiplatform game they will use one system as the lead system and then port the game to the rest. Anytime you start with a pc like architect it is harder to re write code and render targets to accommodate the new xbox memory layout. Games developed solely for Xbox tend to look better than games designed as multi platform for that reason. So lets not just place blame on the debs here but more on the unrealistic expectations for every game to perform 1080/60fps.

A tad bit disappointing but it does seem that the pace is pretty high. They probably sacrificed resolution for framerate, exactly what I would have done with that game. Still looks great so it's not a big deal.
Yeah they are sacrificing resolution to get it running close to 30fps.
