I will probably get a 360 in a few years and a Wii in quite a few years. Maybe I'll get a Wii once the next generation comes out, as the Wii, games & accessories will be cheaper and there will be plenty of good games out.
I was originally heavily leaning towards the 360, but after playing it, I didn't come away too impressed. I've had it at my house for over a month now (my sister borrowed it) and after playing many of the games given to me, I'm not all that impressed with the system. Many of the games I've played are also available and sometimes better on the PC or were not all that great. Gears of War was fun, but not good enough to warrant a purchase; GRAW was all right, and so was R6:V; I grew bored of Oblivion; Perfect Dark Zero is "meh"; Dead or Alive is 4 is decent; I already played Burnout: Revenge on the PS2; Kameo is boring; and I've already played Prey on the PC and didn't like it all that much. Honestly, I've had the most fun with the Xbox Live Arcade games, notably Alien Hominid HD, Hexic HD, and Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved.
I'm currently leaning towards the PS3, but that's a bit expensive, so I'll be waiting for a price drop before I get one, which I'm pretty sure I will mainly because of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Final Fantasy XIII, Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, among other games. The Wii is an interesting system, but there are very few games on it out right now interest me, and neither are the ones coming out in the near future. The Wii's limited online capabilities is really a breaking point for me. There are five games on the Wii that somewhat interest me, and not surprisingly, they're all first-party titles. That's another breaking point: the Wii is severely lacking good third-party support.
Still waiting. I'm still, believe it or not, enjoying my Xbox and playing Forza, Panzer Dragoon Orta and Halo 2 from time to time. My GC is collecting dust after LoZTP. I'm working my way through RE4 for PS2, borrowed it from a relative. And I might get God of War 2 next week. I'm just too busy with work these past few weeks and working on my Taxes before the deadline.
But for this generation, I'm getting tired of trying to catch up with games as a manticore. I'll most likely get the 360 as my prime gaming platform. And the PC (once I build one) will be my secondary gaming platform, but for mostly older PC games I missed out on in the RTS and FPS area.
So basically, its 360/PC......and Nintendo handhelds (GBA & DS)
It's best to wait. I should have waited because I still play my PS2 and PC the most anyway. There really isn't anything too special on current gen consoles at this point in time. By the end of the year there should be. I'm hoping Mass Effect will be the first game where I really think current gen is worth it.
