So here it is folks. Not exactly boxy like those first assumptions but it sure looks like a... console.
What do you think? Will Valve conquer console market?
UPDATE:
Valve will announce hardware partners on CES 2014 in January.

Controller= POS
You have played with it or just talking out your ass?
No need to even use it, look at it.................................
Touch pad, well sure it may be great to keep looking ta the pad instead of the games, you may as well use a damn ipad for a controller.
They really like that circle design don't they?
It's pretty boring but it IS a prototype. The form factor is nice and I wonder what hardware is in that model

You're just talking shit at this point. There's a full demo video on the controller for how it works, go look at that

LOL sure, this is why next gen consoles have not gone to touch controls, it is just common sense.
I'm not sure how will this play out for Valve since you can build Steam Machine by yourself. You just need their controller, SteamOS and you're good to go.
I guess they won't go straight to brick-and-mortar stores, but you'll probably need to order it online.

Translation = I am talking out my ass and have never used it or any controller even close to it to form a valid opinion. I know not to take your post serious in the future.

You are just a fanboy who makes the exact same post in every thread when someone disagrees with you.
Let alone how bad the controller actually looks, it is hideous.
@SKaREO: its a pc
A video game console is a device that outputs a video signal to display a video game. The term "video game console" is used to distinguish a machine designed for consumers to use for playing video games on a separate television in contrast to arcade machines, handheld game consoles, or home computers.

We schooled you in the last thread you created about this. Valve have never said it was a console. Its always been a small form factor PC designed for the living room.
gross controller
But when you have an Oculus Rift on your head you won't be looking at the controller, silly.
Now that's a good look
@SKaREO: valve never said it was a console it isn't anything different from what you can get from cyberpower or alienware. They also said you can build your own steam machine if you wanted. I guess your trying hard to troll or just can't accept it.
If the controller turns out to have more precise aiming than the thumbstick ones, I will def get one. Would be great for some types of games for sure.

So you write off a controller before even trying it?
Common sense is not so common it would seem

I hate anything that is a touch device, so apparently you are mocking my opinion, so it is now my right to do the same to you no?

Don't bother. It is like talking to a brick wall, only this one will call you a fanboy.

Sony calls their console a Computer Entertainment System. What's your point?
Judging a controller before actually using it is stupid
We have had demonstrations and seen it running. Most people agree it is really good.

Yup because my opinion makes your arse sting so much, fanboyism does this, PC/Valve/Steam.

Both MS and Sony have referred to their machines as consoles, something Valve has never done.
