The spaceport looks real cool. But I must say I'm not impressed by the flying at all at this stage. It looks slow and sluggish. There is no feel of speed what so ever. And when turning the ship looks "fixed", completely disrupting the illusion. I really hope they put some work into the core gameplay over the next two years (seems kind of likely :D), because that's not good enough. They could have ten million star systems, fifty thousand different ships, all the customization you could imagine. But if the flying isn't fun it's all worthless.
Man,if they pull this off this can easily be one of the best games ever made.NanomageIt will not be polished unless the budget is somewhere around 10million USD.
It will be great, but buggy.

The budget is supposed to be at least 15 million dollars, they only needed 2 millions to prove to their private inverstors that it was worth it and they pull that one off incredibly. So yeah,at least 15M of budget.[QUOTE="Ravenshout"]It will not be polished unless the budget is somewhere around 10million USD.[QUOTE="Nanomage"]Man,if they pull this off this can easily be one of the best games ever made.Nanomage

Is the concept of a subscription completely foreign to you? Besides, if you wanted to pay once, the message on RSI's site says that yes, you will be able to continue to upgrade and/or add on items at pledge prices (presumably excluding the limited items offered during the past few days).
WTF is this crap?
Maybe I don't understand the game enough.

I played this when I was a kid:-
Is Star Citizen going to be similar to this?
This is gonna be a long 2 year wait for Star Citizen....solely gonna upgrade my PC for when that game comes out.

Not suprising, wannabee elitists usually aren't too bright... ;)

If you remember Wing Commander, then that is basically Star Citizen
I still think Star Citizen is a really crappy name for a game, couldn't they come up with something better?
these guys secured around 6 million in funding from kickstarter, not to mention the 12 or so they are receiving also from private Funders.
This games going to have a pretty respectable budget.

Honestly I do not, but I can still spot something that looks good and seems to have potential

It looks good, but as a person who never plays this kind of games, I cannot say anything about the gameplay shown.[QUOTE="JangoWuzHere"]I really like the way it sounds, makes it sound really massive. It sounds like an atari game. I hope this game gets some good writing, a strong story would really help.

Star Citizen is a great name, and it actually fits a lot more with the game than a ton of videogames out there.
This game is something unusual out of this generation's library of games, I'm definitely checking this game out. At first, I was like WTF is this and I'm sure I'll get it soon.
Unusual but not the only one,the X series has been around for years with two games released this gen(X3 Terran Conflict and X3 Albion Prelude) and Evochron Mercenary as well, part of the Evochron series. You seem to be a PC gamer so it´s kind of baffling you never heard of those games or games with a similar structure of Star Citizen, they always were extremely popular with the PC gaming community. This game is something unusual out of this generation's library of games, I'm definitely checking this game out. I used to be a PC gamer when I was a kid and then turned to consoles for a long time. So I lost touch with PC gaming. Just returned back to heaven recently (PC).

Do you even know what Half Life means and what a far cry is?A "far cry" is thedistance estimated in terms of the audibility of a cry; "it's a far cry from here". Does that not relate to Far Cry's open world theme?
And this is what Half Lifemeans.

Do you even know what "Half Life" means? Do you know what a "Far Cry" is?Yes,I´m very aware of what the terms mean thank you very much, how are they more appropriate to their respective games than Star Citizen?
You seem to have missed the point I was making.
Can't wait for it, it's going to be revolutionary if - and I'm sure they will - they fulfill their promises.

I disagree, I still think Star Citizen is a bad name. It doesn't even have a good ring to it.Do you even know what "Half Life" means? Well I don't think Star Citizen is a bad name. In that case, Mass Effect would be a bad name too.[QUOTE="MrYaotubo"][QUOTE="Mozelleple112"] Do you even know what "Half Life" means? Do you know what a "Far Cry" is?Mozelleple112

I wasn´t saying I don´t like the Half Life of Far Cry game names,I was merely debating the fact that they aren´t exactly fitting with the games themselves, something that most certainly doesn´t apply to Star Citizen.
