It should be a standardised system but each manufacturer should be allowed to make their own branded model with subtle design/asthetic differences, like DVD players etc.do you think console community

there are some advantages and disadvantages to a standardised model
the good
More competition since anyone can make a machine that meets the standard. any machine that does meet that standard will then automatically have a games liberary. this means that ppl have more choice about what they want.
Cheaper consoles due to more competition
easier developement since one design fits all
the bad side
could possibly lead to a lack of thinking outside the box. consoles could become very very samey.
