Square Enix Reschedules Its E3 Conference

You know how Square Enix scheduled their conference for the same time slot as Nintendo's E3 presser?

Well, they've blinked. They've gone ahead and rescheduled it.

Now we can watch both. Good on Square Enix for doing the right thing.

I'm looking forward to Nintendo spending a whole hour telling us they have something to talk about that they don't want to talk about yet. We'll end up with a load more info about what NX isn't.

I'm glad they did this. Nintendo would have pummeled them as far as viewership went. Now we can enjoy both.

Not sure about that, considering Square's been making more hits than Nintendo is at this point.

Well, in modern times? I could swear Square's games, both west and east are outselling most Nintendo IP's right now.

No they are not. No Square Enix game so far has sold Pokemon X and Y, Pokemon OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, or Animal Crossing New Leaf. Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D have all sold more or less on par with Square Enix's games.

The real kicker is that Nintendo's games are on one platform, and they still outsell Square's games, which are on any and everything.

Not to pour it on but I think you are seeing that the Wii U isnt selling well so it is easy to believe that, but really everything Nintendo makes outsells SE products by the millions. They are also a hardware developer that prints money even off failures so yeah Nintendo is a much much bigger entity then SE.

I think that's smart and not necessarily blinking at Nintendo's. I think they would of done for any of the 3 simply as to try and get the most viewers possible for what is the biggest VG event of the year.

Actually, Nintendo will probably focus on announcing their 2015 holiday lineup, like they always do, and hyping up their next big hitters.

Meanwhile, Square Enix will have some remasters to announce, a bit of Deus Ex 4 to show off, and...hm, FF15?

Finally, Microsoft and Sony will be showing off some underwhelming titles, and maybe a few cgi trailers for games that won't exist for another five years.

The only thing I want to hear from Square is conformation of a PS4 version of Rise of the Tomb Raider and I doubt they'll give one as the X1 version has yet to release. They announce a PS4 version and I'll consider buying their games again.

And it would have been embarrassing. First big conference in years and they get blown out by Nintendo. Probably wouldn't have lived it down for years.
