Square Enix confirms next Dragon Quest RPG is a console game

Square Enix have confirmed they are already working on the next Dragon Quest game, they confirm it will not be on mobiles, will not be online only and will not be a handheld game!

Next week Square Enix are teasing news regarding Dragon Quest to be revealed

Good. Too bad it'll only take three years or more to be made and then localized, if we're so lucky.

Pretty awesome news, and good to know it's not pure action hack and slash combat.. That's one of the things I was worried they where gonna do. Now all I need is confirmation that it will be on PS4. So much awesome news coming from SE lately. They're really starting to turn themselves around at least. You know what really would blow my mind though. Chrono Trigger Remake or a new sequel.

TGS may be another painful game convention for xbox fans.

God bless whoever at MS was wise enough to lock down a note worthy Japanese studio like Platinum for a high profile xbone exclusive in Scalebound before PS4 got so big that option was off the table.

Xbone's future sales and ability to secure future Japanese support rely on Scalebounds ability to be the most accepted (xbox fans) and amazing exclusive new IP MS has ever tried to produce.

Fucking rights Squeenix, please have gameplay footage for us! I need another Dragon Quest adventure after Sentinel of the Starry Skies. I hope they bring DQ 8 for 3DS over to NA as well. I only ever played it but never owned it.

Hopefully they'll be much faster in terms of localizations like they are with final fantasy

Watch it be a Wii U game. OP's hype would disappear because he doesn't actually like JRPGs he only likes exclusive games.

I don't see the point in announcing a new game right now, they are working in FFXV, KH3 and FFVII remake, so I highly doubt we will see this game anytime soon.

Dragon Quest is worked on by the Enix side of the company, so it is entirely independent of, and unaffected by, all of that that you just listed.

I just hope it's not another cross-gen PS3 to PS4 title but it is very likely but hell, at this point I'd take it it it's a great game.
