Not that I have the time at the moment but lets look at MS.
Launches Xbox in 2001 KILLS Xbox in 2005. (LOOK AT gamespot's list of 5 best Xbox games for 2006 and then look at PS2's list of 5 best games and next year PS2 will still get God of War in addtion to Rouge G. not to mention plenty of other games that still will come out!!) AND MS spent Billions!!
http://msftextrememakeover.blogspot.com/2006/11/portrait-of-emerging-business-as-older.html
Sells are equal to Xbox over the first year after launch. ( not end of year sales!!)
http://www.engadget.com/2005/12/15/xbox-360-only-sold-about-58-compared-to-original-xbox !!
SO there you go I guss PS3 bad start can get worse like Xbox 360 has already done, But I don not think so.
Ravenlore_basic
First of all Microsoft has nothing to do with developers’ lack of interest in the original Xbox, it is the developers who are choosing to focus their development toward the 360 due to its massive popularity. Secondly Microsoft did not “kill” the Xbox, there are still games coming out for the original Xbox (refer to Gamespot Xbox Coming Soon section for more details.) Lastly you can not compare the original Xbox to a console such as PS2 which had a year head start, was developed by a company with years of experience in the console business and had a established brand loyalty to a company such as Microsoft who was a newcomer with no experience in console business; they “spent billions” so they could get their foot through the door which now looking at the results is proving to be a wise investment.

no, MS officially killed the XBOX awhile back. Everyone knows this. It's just that devs choose to make cheap low budget games for it instead of the 360."Sony's Phil Harrison states that rumble was last gen and no longer needed."
LOL! For the PS4 maybe they'll drop analog sticks because they're "no longer needed". They can go back to Atari2600-style joysticks - an 8-way controller and one button.
LOLZ!
HOW IS NBA LIVE ON PS3 CANCELED BAD!!!In other words, it sells a lot (even if you don't think it's that good). Sony loses money by not getting it. And that's one less game that a lot of people would otherwise buy. They are losing a lot of their big selling games like that and Virtua Fighter 5.
Sales to rating wise it is the most overrated game ever!!! It sells so much and can't even get a freaking 7.0!!! This is on a yearly basis. My brother and his friends discredited PS3 for not having this god like game and said that the hood wouldn't support PS3 without live. Granted I'm a black guy from the suberbs I looked at my brother like I usually do thinking to myself. (Damn you are an idiot...)

We all know Sony has been taking a lot of bad press from the PS3, but lets take a look back at the year that has lead us to the Nov. 17th release date. The one where Sony Claims the 360 and Wii are too expensive just set me off laughing, where is Sony going? I used to know Sony for great company, now they have gone down the drain. I want to stop hearing lies, and I want some truth Sony. When will nex-gen arrive? :P
First, we start with Sony itself. Yes, I was going to only make a timeline of the PS3 news, but how can you ignore this arrogance from late 2005?

While it's not all of Sony's fault, they have done little to apologize for their delays and arrogant statements. It's a bad trend that they've started, and the more they continue the more we'll be seeing article after article on Gamespot.....day after day about something else they've done to flaw the PS3's image.
I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of flaming cow responses, but hey that's expected. I can understand their crankiness b/c I know I'd hate to be in their shoes atm. Hopefully Sony will have some sort of eye-opener to the amount of distaste they've started among gaming consumers, and will get back to what they used to do best.

Most definitely. Awesome, informative thread. I never knew Sony was that evil.... that root stuff is kinda scary, actually.
you know, i never hear of the MS or NINTY execs saying anything about the "other guys". why is sony doing this.out0v0rderactually if you ever read the news stories or watch video interviews of J Allard and Peter Moore you'd think differently. Everybody was slinging mud.

2007 is gona be the upside,Yeah, the Euro launch will have alot more sucsses then any other next gen consol. Atleast i hope so since i live here. Have atleast more then one game to buy, and dont have to wait outside the stores. Even if i have preordered one online. And 2007 will probebly be the upside.
-major firmware update
-less of a shortage reaching almost 2 - 6 mill mark
-Euro Launch
- Amazing games
-Better graphics and understand of making games

Best. Thread. Ever.
The best thing about it, is that there are still cow ownage sony comments that I've read that haven't been posted yet. Like when Phil Harrison said that there would be 100 blu-ray movies by the end of the year, when that actual number is less than half  or when Phil Harrison said that their controller had actually innovated (in a UK magazine)
This is cold hard proof that Sony lies, is unprepared, is stupid and that 360/Wii are better options in gaming. It's such a shame since PS2 was such a great console.....
I wish this thread could be stickied. I wonder where all the cows are at the moment....Metroid_TimeIsn't it obvious? :D If they haven't become sheep or lemmings, they are probably out slaving themselves trying to earn back that wasted month's rent.
My predictions for 2007:
Mid to Late January: PS3 sales fall drastically after holiday season
Mid Febuary: Sony temporarily cuts price to $300/$400, sales go up to 1 million units
Mid March: New Permanent prices: $450 and $550 sales slow down
Late March: After long negotiations, Microsoft gains Metal Gear Solid 4
Late June: Metal Gear Solid 4 is released on both systems, due to bigger base, 360 version sells more.
Late July: HD DVD out sells Blu-Ray 8:1, slowly studios stop supporting Blu-Ray
Mid-August: Sony is losing too much money on the PS3 and stops making them.
This is just my worst-case scenario, I love my PS2 but the future is dim on the PS3
You can expect to it that everyone on your prediction will happen, except the price cut.My predictions for 2007:

Another Two words "Blu Ray"
The problems with Blu-Ray have created extreme cost and execution problems for Sony and now their premier division (instead of being the profit center for Sony) is predicting they will take a $1.5B loss next year largely resulting from this decision. To put this in perspective, just think what would happen if Apple’s iPod group, instead of generating massive profit, suddenly dropped into massive loss. Now you can see why the Sony PlayStation division just changed out their top executives.
All that being said, the killing blow may have been done by Microsoft who decided to bring to market a $200 HD DVD option for their Xbox 360 which has been in market a year longer than Sony and is projected to have a near 20x installed base advantage by year end (10M Xbox 360 to 600K PS3). Note that both projections are aggressive but Sony was supposed to originally ship 2M PS3s into the market during the 4th quarter and actual numbers (given they had under 200K at launch) may be closer to 400K. And with a recall possible there is a chance they might not even make that. Add to this that the Xbox 360 HD DVD drive is for movies only, so each one counts for movie viewing while PS3s may not be used to watch movies and you have a situation where the active movie player advantage by year-end should be between 4x and 6x better for HD DVD over Blu-Ray.
