Sony should give the Order for Free for PSN being down

So apparently Lizard Squad is claiming they were the ones responsible and people have been reporting they can't access their account.

Since gamers are paying for a service that they can't seem to access I think its nice for Sony to give back by giving the Order away for free. The game isn't worth much anyways so nothing of value will be lost. I'm sure they were planning to in the future anyways. This is the perfect opportunity to expose the game to more people.

The message on the site currently reads, "You may be experiencing issues related to launching games, applications, and/or social features such as trophies, messaging, or friends list. We appreciate your patience while we address this."

Why not blame lizard?

I'm on mlb.tv hoping the Cards lose. I'll check in a minute. If they did give The Order for free I STILL wouldn't DL it... way to big of a file and my hard drive is full.... can I use an external? Not that they would ever give away a game like that just wondering because it's been pissing me off.

All that they should do is extend people's subscriptions by the amount of time that their servers were down. SONY is a business and not a charity.

Did it go down though? No, it had outages, XBL doesn't go down. Also most people are smart enough to not even try to DDoS XBL, the success rate is horribly low, PSN on the other hand though... lol...

That's not how you conduct business if you want to keep people around, you need to compensate in excess of the inconvenience caused.

Didn't know the service was down, and it sucks for those who plan their Fridays around online gaming. Personally, I'd think it smarter to focus derision on the criminals responsible for taking your gaming time away, but it doesn't sound like some here are thinking too clearly anyhow...

Just don't play Destiny, and play some better games. Like Bloodborne :p

A DDoS does not mean the connection was taken down, its simply a flood of data to overwhelm the connection or network which can result in it going down. PSN as a network goes down a lot, it's very temperamental and its infrastructure weak, this is why it is targeted all the time. XBL is a considerably stronger network, not to mention when it "goes down", 9/10 times its scattered outages, not the network actually being down.
