gonna try to make it short since I know you guys don't read much... The strategy is to make movies out of all their franchises to make non-gamers and gamers that have not played any of their exclusives interested.
Sly Cooper, Ratchet & Clank and Uncharted might not be as popular as Mario or Halo right now but after these films come out I'm pretty sure that both franchises will grow exponentially.
Isn't this strategy pure genius? Instead of wasting half a billion dollars like M$ does in marketing Sony will use that money to deliver their IP's to a media where they will live forever.
I know this is blog material and some bitter mod will lock the topic in a few minutes but I believe this is something worth discussing because Sony went from total failures at marketing to masters of the game. They will make money on those movies and then even more money from people wanting to try the games.
"Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time" is one of those criminally underrated Sony exclusive that sold only a million copies but a game of this quality deserves more just like the Sly Cooper series.
