Unity 3D might not be the highest end game engine, but it is a prime choice for indie devs. So this is great news for indie devs to get their products onto console easier. Looks like Sony is actually making an effort to get better indie dev support.

Sure but there will probably still be huge licensing fees so it puts most Indies out of it straight away.

 

People aren't just going to be able to buy Unity for ~$1500 and start making games for PS4.

Thats actually a very good idea, since its supposed to be a mobile platform, embracing the indie space is where it could shine

When you start a business anything needed to start the business can be a tax write-off for the first year or two. In otherwords the government will pay for it.
