SONY brilliantly killed the NX even before its release

Take a look at every major gaming community minus the big Nintendo fan sites.

The only thing people are talking about is PS4 Neo this PS4 Neo that. I can't help but think that all this PS4 Neo leak has been controlled by SONY to cockblock Nintendo.

No one is even talking about the NX any more.

Nintendo execs are panicking. Going by spec leaks, the PS4.5 is much stronger than the NX and is also enjoying far more publicity. Once again, I'm amazed at the amount of genius SONY possesses in every facet of their organization. Their engineering team is genius. Their management is genius. Their marketing team is genius. This company is genius.

How do you feel, Nintendo fans? Can you feel Cerny's genius?

Everything about the leak screams that it was was a controlled leak.

SONY is very tight on secrets. No one even knew that the PS4 would have 8 GB of GDDR5 RAM. Everyone thought it would only have 4 GB of DDR3 RAM with a modest GPU. It seems odd that their full specs and development policies were leaked just a bit over a month before E3.

The 4.2 TF GPU leak was meant to target specwhores who were thinking about moving to the NX.

Then the development policies were leaked to ensure current PS4 users don't get assblasted about being left behind.

I'm telling you, this was an intentional leak by SONY. SONY has been planning on the PS4 Neo for a long time, and they intentionally chose to leak the best parts so close to E3 to kill any hype that the NX has, and it's worked. Every single news site and gaming community is PS4 Neo this and PS4 Neo that. No mention of the NX.

If people see a crappy 1.5 TF GPU, they'll say it's much weaker than the PS4 Neo's 4.2 TF GPU.

Nintendo isn't going to leak anything. I suspect they'll give ambiguous specs during the NX announcement like what Microsoft did with the Xbone announcement.

Honestly, I thought PSVR was going to do a lot to combat the NX launch by itself. However, if anything I feel the Neo undermines the PSVR push. Too much at once. Suddenly $1000 in new PS4 tech doesn't look as attractive as maybe a $300-400 new Nintendo console.

I don't think the NX was ever going to survive long anyway. It's another stopgap console like the WiiU.

Yep, its the kinda genuis that allowed the Vita to crash and burn against the Nintendo 3DS.

I'll give them credit for the PS4, PS2, and PS1.

But people love to forget that the PS3 was beaten in sales for several years by the Wii. They tend to forget that the PSP and Vita both lost to the DS and 3DS.

That's cool, underestimate Nintendo. Because Nintendo is the one company that can pull the rabbit out of the hat when people think they are done. People thought they were done after the Gamecube and they produced the Wii. People assumed they would lose to Sega during the 16-bit wars, and they ended up winning.

I'm not saying the NX will destroy the PS4, but people are underestimating it. We don't even know what it is yet. Of course people aren't talking seriously about it! We don't know anything about the controller, what the system will look like, or the games.

But I'll say this. The last time people started acting like Nintendo no longer mattered and they were going to join Atari and Sega in the great console heaven in the sky, they blew both Microsoft and Sony out of the water with the Wii. People have been saying Nintendo does not matter since the end of the NES days, and they keep coming back.

Sony's social media management is pretty good. The oxygen for NX social media hype/inertia was been killed.

Even at work today, I casually asked if anyone knew about the PS4.5 and all my co-workers did. None of them knew about the NX, which is sad but I blame Nintendo for this. They seriously don't know how to hype their shit. Sony's rumored PS Neo is getting more hype than a confirmed Nintendo console that's coming out this year, shit is sad.

Same with my workplace. Sony has another ~40 million from PS3's ~80 million for potential buyers.
