Sonic needs to become party character

Solo Sonic games sucks. Really, SEGA fails so much.

Most Sonic party games are good. For example "Sonic all stars racing transformed". This game is highest rated PC racing game in steam. People still keep playing this game, everyone loves this. Also Sega Superstar Tennis was good also.

No thanks, Sonic needs to go on hiatus for a few years so SEGA can think up some new and hopefully innovative and good ideas.

"Solo" Sonic games didn't always suck. I take it you hated Colors (probably did) and Generations?

I would gladly like to see another Sonic Shuffle game when it was the only Sonic game close to Mario Party game back on Dreamcast. If Sega can do Sonic Shuffle 2 on Wii U, beam me up Scotty.

Agreed, that won't happen though because for some reason he still sells millions of (shitty) games!

In fact problem is that they are not even copying but focusing too much on same thing that fails once again over and over again.

Rather than him get all his own games, I'd rather just see he be added to the rosters for mario kart, mario party, etc.

Please don't taint Nintendo games with anything beyond classic Sonic canon. Anything post Sonic III is an abomination.

I don't think that's a good idea personally. While Sonic games have historically done well (don't tell TigerSuperman) on Nintendo systems, I'm pretty sure that would start an outrage.

The 2D Classic Sonic levels from Sonic Generations showcased Sonic at his very best. That's exactly what Sega should be doing with the blue blur. He offers a unique brand of platformer in which the levels are intricately designed with dense multilayered structure intended for speed running. The goal is to explore the levels until you find the quickest route then performing that route as flawlessly and quickly as possible. Sega needs to stick to what separates Sonic from the rest of the platforming pack.

This is what Sonic has to go back to then develop from there with the uniqueness of the series always kept in mind.

Those so-called "idiots" happen to children, for your information. While many adults today seem to hate Sonic, kids still love him. And that's because we adults are not Sonic's primary audience, but its primary audience are mainly kids. That's why it continues to sell millions, and remains one of the best-selling game franchises of all time, because it does very well targeting that particular demographic.

@scottpsfan14: I couldn't agree more. Just keep the plot minimal. Dr Eggman is trying to take over the forest with his robotic monstrosities and you have to save the world's innocent wildlife. I've always really liked that nature vs machine theme in the old sonic games.

Sonic just isn't there anymore, that is the problem. The people dealing with the character today are all different than the past, I assume. It was the music, level design, art direction, and just the whole package that gave Sonic that unique flavor. That is dead.

The games are still generally terrible though. And kids aren't dumb, they know bad games. They may love the character, I'm not sure how much they like the games though. I'm glad stuff like Lego series, Minecraft, Skylanders exists so that kids can get high quality games suitable for them.

On a more serious note. Why would Nintendo buy Sonic? Why would Nintendo actually buy any of Capcoms too? Both are literally on life support with their IPs and tarnished such names that they're almost impossible to work with.
