I probably wouldn't take the money. My freedom to game is way more valuable than a billion bucks!

A billion dollars? Tax free?
Hell yes I would stop playing games to live a life of absolute leisure until the day I die.
I'd take it and then start playing games again, when you're rich you don't have to live by the rules.
I'll question his motives.
Think about taking the money.
Probably would take the money.
Go to School. Learn something to make something out of myself. Get a Good Job, Get a Good Wife, Have Children, Raise Children, Have a Life.
F*ck yes. Time to see the world.tagyhagBingo. With that money, games would be the last thing on my mind. I'd make the decision in a heartbeat.

F*ck yes, are you kidding me? I'd do it for a million, but a billion? You'd have to be a complete idiot to even think about it.
I enjoy games and always have, but damn. They aren't that important and as you get older their significance becomes less and less.

Why are you guys so quick to give up your favorite hobby? Isn't life all about the simple joys and freedoms and not about money?

Sadly in this world, you kinda need Money to have Freedom.

For one, you would have more simple joys and much more freedoms if you were a billionaire.
2. You must be young. Really. Nobody thats had to go out in life and make their way would put video games on such a high pedestal when it comes to a billion dollars.

I love gaming, but I love traveling even more, and there's no way I'd see all the places I want in the world with my future job/free time, and I'd regret that infinitely more than not being able to play the latest games.
If anyone would consider still gaming instead of that amount of money, then you're either very very young or haven't got your priorities straight. Extremely stupid question

Don't think some people understand just how much money that is
I love videogames way too much.
I don;t care if i lose my job and live on the street.
So no,no matter how stupid this sounds

Who said this was my favorite hobby?themajormayorThis. I enjoy gaming, but it is by no means my favorite thing. What's your favorite thing DarkLink? That's kind of hard to pin down, but there are quite a few things I like more than gaming. I love old cars, for instance, and with that kind of money, I could buy and maintain a rather large stable of them. I also love traveling, boating, etc. The real kicker is that being independently wealthy would give me an unlimited amount of time to write, which is what I really love.
Yes in a fricken heartbeat. In fact I'd give up gaming for $1000 since I don't really play games anymore.. Anyone one who says no to a billion dollars is dumb lol.
Think of what I could buy with a billion dollars! A garage full of every car I wanted.
A large mansion on several islands and every big city that I'd like to live in.
A large collection of art, Patek Phillipe watches the finest tailored suits, clothes, diamonds etc..
a 12.12 channel Snell THX Reference 100,000 watt / 8K cinema i nevery home
private jet, and my own HUGE yaucht.
Or a couple of video games? LOOOL:

Quite a lot.I'd buy one of these. clyde46Totally.
In fact, I'd probably spend half the money making a huge, bloated epic that will end up becoming the greatest box-office bomb in history :P

I'd probably buy my parents a nice home and just keep living in the one I live in now. Re-decorate a bit. Buy a nicer car. And just make movies the rest of my life.
I honestly can't tell if you were being sarcastic. :P
Hell yeah, I'd take the money. I could do a lot of stupid stuff to preoccupy my time with a billion dollars.

I should of course say yes but...I just can't accept it for a lot of reasons such as what am I supposed to do with all that money? It's a billion and since I gave up gaming what the hell am I to do with it? I can't really buy games as what's the point of that if I can't play them and so what am I supposed to do with the money? I'd be set for life with nothing to really do but just have an easy cruise towards death. Kind of sad that video games mean that much to a person but it's just a very entertaining hobby and a fun past time that I don't really want to lose (as pathetic as that sounds), even for that amount of money.
So, no. I'm fine as things are; able to have a pretty easy going life AND still have time to kick virtual @$$ while raiding a dungeon.
Also this would never really happen so....yeah.
