*Stolen from Gaf*
The 2nd game just released in Japan, and people are lining up (or were lining up) just to buy it. The first one was already a pretty big seller, but this one looks to top it and join the ranks of Monster Hunter, Pokemon, Final Fantasy and the sort. To put this into perspective, it's selling on the same level as CoD, Assassin's Creed, Fifa, etc sell on the west.
More evidence of this is that the guide for the first game already sold in "big league" levels:
1. Animal Crossing New Leaf - 730k
2. Pokémon Black White - 691k
3. Pokémon Black White - 595k
4. Dragon Quest IX - 508k
5. Youkai Watch - 505k
Apparently game guides are still a big thing over there.
So yeah... could this become another world-wide craze or do you feel it's too confined to japanese culture? From what I gather it's somewhat similar to Pokemon in concept but that game benefits greatly from not being too tied down the Japan's culture, it's something any kid in the world can pick up, play and understand.
Opinions, System Warriors?
