So... what could stop DS2 from getting GOTY this year

Its a good game.... but why the hell is this locked on GOTY for you?

Yeah, it really isn't. One thing I do think is sort of right with what he said is that it is not as well designed. "Badly designed" is poor wording I think, but its definitely iffy compared to the first one imo.

Personally I do think Dragon Age: Inquisition stands a good shot, hard to find anything wrong with it thus far.

Well Demon's Souls won goty here back in 2009 (some of you kiddies are too young to remember) and looking at the line up for this year, I would say it's a serious contender. I HAVE SPOKEN

It's much better than Dark Souls but TC stop trying to front like you played Demon's Souls. Hermit's only get half the series, deal with it.

There was a pretty heated argument recently about how Dark souls wasnt a sequel to demon souls

i consider each game independently anyway. (meaning I don't think about a game in terms of it's series, sequel or prequel - each game stands alone).

.... I said it was good in my second sentence... cmon now cup... get it together.

My point stands... its now "old hat" .... its chances of GOTY.... unless everything else flops are low.

Destiny, Batman Arkham Knight, Dragon Age Inquisition...something we don't know about yet. I SERIOUSLY doubt it wins GOTY from anything but a handful of publications at best.

Civilization Beyond Earth, Divinity Original Sin, Dragon Age Inquisition, Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor, and a lot of other games will outshine Dark Souls 2 in every way. Besides, games that come out later in the year almost ALWAYS take the spotlight over games that release early. With a new generation starting to take off, Dark Souls 2 is going to feel like a relic and games that release later will be the ones on peoples minds when they vote/choose the GOTY.

So long as it releases as good as it's looking and promising I'd say it's the easy front-runner, especially since The Witcher 3 got pushed back till 2015.

Nope, I think so too. Part of it is due to Estus getting nerfed (slower chug animation, less uses), melee-only heavy armor builds being less viable in PvE (in DaS1 you could tank everything with a high-stability greatshield like GS of Artorias), repeated deaths reducing your health bar gradually, DEX and STR scaling being nerfed, rolling having less iframes, less OP weapons afforded to the player early-game. And then the other parts are enemy hitboxes being out of wack and a lot of boss fights just throwing adds at you to raise the difficulty.

Pretty boring game honestly. Also not a PS exclusive, so pretty sure it will not win GOTY on here. Maybe one of the other 500 sites that awards GOTY though.

That's most likely due to bullshit hitboxes.
