More 360 3rd party games looked and performed better on 360, but thats only because a lot of devs did not take advantage and put in the time to develop perfectly for PS3. When time is taken from 3rd party PS3 has the better versions graphically (Portal 2, Metal Gear Rising, ect). 360 still out performs it frame rate wise with most games, this is probably due to the slow PS3 bluray player, 256mb of ram per game, or the devs not taking there time to fully opitimize getting the most out of the fully used cell.

IMO These are the best looking console games this gen (not in any order).

Gear Of War 3

Heavy Rain

Uncharted 3

Halo 4

Crysis 2

(As you can see most excluisves have the best graphics).

I would say PS3 and Xbox 360 both showed great visuals this gen. Not sure who had the very best looking game, thats a matter of opinion. Or which one is more powerful.

Jeez, didn't realize Sony was handing out free internet with every PS3. Now that is something. Guess my PS3 is defective since I still have to pay my internet bill.

7 years of sub-par multiplats and a couple of short-lived graphics kings cows still try to make themselves believe a myth that no one cares about anymore. :(

In reality, no, not from what i've experienced of both.

PS3 = Sega Genesis (good CPU, crappy graphics chip)

360 = SNES (average CPU, good graphics chip)

SNES wins...

yeah, the ps3 was more powerful but  personally i  thought having hundreds of multiplats play better was a bigger deal that impacted my gaming way more than 3 or 4 ps3  exclusives that looked slightly better than 360 titles.

The Last of Us will be the best looking console game this gen by far IMO

They're about the same.  360 edges it because of more available ram, that's it.  But the far bigger difference is, the 360 is 10x as easy as a development platform.

God of War 3 is mighty impressive, and so is Killzone 3, but Gears 3 takes the cake.  Everything is very very detailed and CONSISTENT, and that's an even more impressive accomplishment considering the length of the game.  That extra long development time (plus epic is just so much bigger than SSM and Guerrilla, back then at least) really did it for that game.

If every game could be baked for as long as they needed, we would get so much better games it's not even funny.  But this is a business.

I remember endless debates about 360 being equal to PS3. Just wait for Rage and Gears 3 we were told. In the end though none of these games topped the PS3 exclusives.

1. Chronos' hands in GOW3

2. That tank in KZ3

Its the opposite for me to be honest....

I like my ps3 and 360 evenly but all the hype and talk from sony fanboys before the ps3 came out was hilarious!

Yet in the end, multiplats ran better and looked better 90% of the time on 360. While exclusives on the ps3 looked a little better then the 360 exclusives.

The difference was barely anything, if anything at all, The Cell and the ps3 was hugely over hyped by sony fanboys.

It varies from game to game. I have noticed though that PS3 has more framerate issues. All in all, they're about the same.
