honestly What kind of name is Trusty bell?Led_poisonNamco's Marketing is way ahead of ya...It's being called Eternal Sonata in the US.
[QUOTE="Thrice_III"]Looks great. I'm hoping namco sends this one to ps3 as well.advertise_thissame, although i probably wouldn't play it ... namco isn't exactly known for their fabulous rpg skills.
Yes b/c the Tales series just plain sucks, not to mention this is from tri-Crescendo, developers of Baten Kaitos... obviously another poor RPG. :|
I'm going to get this game when I get a 360, but Banjo Kazooie 3 has to come out 1st before I buy one. I don't understand though why Zelda: Windwaker got bashed to heck and back for its cell shading art style and kiddy look, but this game gets praised by lemmings for exactly what Windwaker was bashed for.peaceful_anger
B/c we were shown one thing and then had the rug pulled from under us afterwards.

I thought Tales of Symphonia and Baten Kaitos were decent. I haven't played the other Tales games, though.

I sort of see what you mean, but Nintendo never said the next Zelda would look like that. Everybody just insinuated that's what the next Zelda would look like. Even with the cell shading and kiddy art style, the game still turned out great IMO, but many people judged the game by its' art style and decided to pass on it. But now here comes Trusty Bell with cell shading and colorful kiddy art style just like Windwaker, except people are praising and accepting it where as Windwaker was bashed for it. Now don't get me wrong, I plan on buying the game cause it is right up my alley. I just think Windwaker got criticized more than it should have for its' art style.[QUOTE="-RPGamer-"][QUOTE="peaceful_anger"]I'm going to get this game when I get a 360, but Banjo Kazooie 3 has to come out 1st before I buy one. 1. This has no where near the following of a Zelda title, nor does it have the expectations of a Zelda title.
2. Eternal Sonata has always looked like this, unlike Zelda, which there was a period of time people expected one thing and then were surprised shortly there after.
Seriously guys. its just cell shading. im not saying it doesnt look good, but c'mon, seriously now cell shading doesnt exactly take alot of hardware.jigglebilly1983
Actually it's cel-shading, not "cell" as in what makes up tissues.
And why it looks simplistic the actual process isn't simplistic, that's a misconception.
An anime is a japanese cartoon. Tell me how a video game is a cartoon. Oh, that's right, it's not.[QUOTE="kiruyama"][QUOTE="TheCrimsonKoopa"]Eww anime.XenoNinja
those look cool...might just get me this game.
you know what he meant about the anime. the art direction is of the typical anime variety. get off the horse.Should I do what the lemmings do and say that the textures are crap (like they say about FF XII) or should I say that the graphics aren't that good, but its pretty?
Just a thought or fairness.
Anyway. Yeah it looks good, but I'm not sure I want to play a game with little girls who have boobs and little boys who still haven't gone through puterty yet, like the girls.
Anyway. Just say. Not stating facts.
[QUOTE="proof11102"]Not to bash, but this kinda looks like a PS2 game.-RPGamer-
I own just about every PS2 RPG worth touching, and I will say with 100% confidence that the graphics found in Eternal Sonata could not be done even remotely close by the PS2.
Have you seen star galaxy (I mean rogue galaxy)? This game looks alot like that game, but a bit better (polygon counts).(Actually. I just saw some screens of rogue galaxy and trustybell looks more than a bit better)
I think. I don't know. Not stating completely facts.

Star "Galaxy"? No. For some reason I have a feeling you're talking about Star Ocean though, and they look some what similar (especially the male protagonist), but the actual prowess isn't even close.
Side note the makers of Star Ocean are making Infinite Undiscovery for the Xbox 360.

Oops. I made a mistake. I mean't to type Rogue Galaxy. Not star galaxy. :P
But yeah. Have you sen Rogue Galaxy?
